These days, the Thu Vien cu do candy production facility of Ms. Dang Thi Thanh (Ha Huy Tap Street, Ha Tinh City) has become busier due to the production atmosphere to serve the increased demand before, during and after the April 30 and May 1 holidays. As a specialty product recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards, Thu Vien Dang Thanh cu do candy has gradually affirmed its position in the market, being chosen by many customers as gifts during each holiday and Tet.

Cu Do candy from Dang Thanh Library is a gift chosen by many tourists when visiting Ha Tinh.

Ms. Dang Thi Thanh said: “Most tourists when coming to Ha Tinh for beach tourism or pilgrimage to red addresses choose to buy Cu Do Thu Vien specialties as gifts. In the past week, the number of customers at the store has increased, sometimes 2-3 times higher than normal days. It is expected that from now until the end of the holiday, the number of customers will continue to increase, so we have proactively developed production plans to meet customer demand.”

According to Ms. Thanh, if on normal days, the Thu Vien Dang Thanh candy production facility only has 6 production staff, now the number has increased to 15 people. In addition, the facility also works overtime to ensure the supply of goods fluctuates daily. "Unlike other product lines that can be produced in stock, Thu Vien candy only produces and sells daily to ensure the best quality. In the days before, during and after the holiday, the demand for buying specialties as gifts is expected to increase, so we also implement many production plans to increase sales" - Ms. Dang Thi Thanh said.

Khanh Trang seafood facility produces one-sun dried squid to stock up for the upcoming peak season.

In addition to the specialty candy cu do, dried seafood products, typical OCOP products of each locality are also chosen by many tourists when coming to Ha Tinh. Therefore, since mid-April, most establishments have proactively planned production and increased supply to serve the market.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang (owner of Khanh Trang seafood establishment, Cam Nhuong commune, Cam Xuyen) shared: “From March to July every year is the peak season for consumption of dried seafood products such as dried squid, dried fish, dried shrimp... Besides, during the holidays of April 30 and May 1, tourists' demand for these products increases, 2-3 times higher than usual. Currently, my establishment is focusing on Cam Nhuong dried squid. At this time, the input price of fresh squid is quite high, from 400 - 500,000 VND/kg, so the finished dried squid costs from 1.8 - 2.2 million VND/kg. However, as a famous delicious gift, "gourmet" tourists still choose this product as a gift".

Many OCOP establishments in Cam Nhuong commune actively produce to serve the peak demand of the tourist season.


Busily introducing specialty products to tourists, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu - owner of Thanh Sang seafood establishment (Cam Nhuong commune) shared: "These days, my establishment welcomes dozens of visitors every day, the consumption of products has increased 3 times compared to normal days. Most tourists when experiencing Thien Cam beach stop by the establishment to buy: dried squid, dried fish, fish sauce... as gifts. Not only introducing the production process and flavor of each item, we also let customers enjoy it directly to enhance the experience and make it easier to choose."

The whole Cam Nhuong commune currently has 11 OCOP products, most of which are processed from fresh local seafood. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of Cam Nhuong Commune People's Committee informed: "The tourist season is considered the "golden time" for seafood production facilities and OCOP products in the area to increase sales. Since the beginning of April, most facilities have proactively sourced input materials for production and processing to bring quality products, typical of Ha Tinh seafood. The local government also thoroughly informed each facility about ensuring quality, food hygiene and safety, listing and publicizing selling prices, creating sympathy with tourists".

Mr. Tran Thanh Luong (a tourist from Quy Hop, Nghe An) shared: “Every time I return to Ha Tinh, I always take the time to buy cu do candy and dried seafood as gifts for friends and relatives. The specialties here are not only delicious and attractive but also have reasonable prices. In addition, when I need to buy in large quantities, the shop owners support home delivery, which is very convenient and cost-effective.”


Ha Tinh specialties have long been “nostalgic” for tourists from all over the world because of their delicious and unique flavors. The initiative in supplying goods during the peak tourist season not only helps production and business establishments to stay ahead of the market and increase sales, but also acts as a “bridge” to promote Ha Tinh culture, cuisine and people to all parts of the country.
