People are excited to travel on the highway through Ha Tinh
(Baohatinh.vn) - The traffic situation on the first day when the highway from Bai Vot to Vung Ang in Ha Tinh was put into operation was quite smooth, drivers were excited and happy when traveling conveniently, shortening travel time and distance.

At 8:00 a.m. on April 29, at the intersection of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway with Provincial Road 550 in Luu Vinh Son Commune, Thach Ha District - 1 of 6 intersections connecting the North - South Expressway with local roads in Ha Tinh, we recorded that the traffic situation in this area was quite clear, convenient for vehicles to move.
The expressway interchange with Provincial Road 550 is the interchange connecting the expressway with Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh City and surrounding areas. This is considered the most important interchange and will have a busy traffic flow in the near future.
Although it has only been the first day since the North-South expressway from Bai Vot to Vung Ang in Ha Tinh was put into operation, drivers strictly follow traffic rules and regulations.
On the main route of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi highway, the traffic volume is not too busy, the traffic situation is quite clear. “At 4am, I started traveling from Hanoi to Ha Tinh and by 8am I was back home. The distance of 345km took me 4 hours to travel, which was much faster and more convenient than before. The expressway from the intersection of National Highway 8 to the intersection of Provincial Road 550 has a smooth, clear road surface, and vehicles move quickly. I am very satisfied,” Mr. Nguyen Quang Hai (from Thach Son commune, Thach Ha district, currently living in Hanoi) happily shared.

Meanwhile, on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang highway, vehicles move quickly and safely.
Vehicles are allowed to travel on the highway from Bai Vot to Vung Ang at a maximum speed of 90 km/h and a minimum speed of 60 km/h.
“In the past time, I have always looked forward to the day the expressway through Ha Tinh is put into operation. Through the first day of experience on the expressway, traveling is very convenient, the road is clear. Surely in the future when I travel far, I will choose the expressway for my journey”, Mr. Tran Trong Vinh (born in 1985, residing in Luu Vinh Son commune, Ha Tinh city) excitedly said.
Smooth road surface, fast and convenient means of transportation are also shared by drivers traveling on the highway from Bai Vot to Vung Ang and vice versa, after the nearly 90 km long highway was put into operation from 6:00 p.m. on April 28.
At the intersection of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway with National Highway 12C in Ky Tan Commune, Ky Anh District, vehicles can enter and exit safely and conveniently.
At highway intersections, the road management agency coordinates with investors and contractors to assign forces to direct and guide traffic.

The two North-South Expressway component projects in the East phase 2021 - 2025, including Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, nearly 90 km long, started construction in January 2023, had a technical opening ceremony organized by the Ministry of Construction on April 19, 2025, and were put into operation on the main route from 6:00 p.m. on April 28, 2025.
Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway passes through Duc Tho, Can Loc and Thach Ha districts of Ha Tinh province. Total project investment: 7,643.57 billion VND. Total route length is about 35.28 km passing through Ha Tinh province, of which road construction length is 33 km; bridge construction length is 2.28 km.
The project starts at Km 479+117.18, connecting with the end point of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot section investment and construction component project (part of the North - South expressway project phase 2017-2020), in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province; the end point is at Km 514+441.33 connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section component project, in Thach Xuan commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province.
Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway passes through Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh districts; total project investment: VND 9,734.62 billion.
The project has a total length of about 54.2 km. The starting point is at Km 514+300 (coinciding with the starting point of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi component project), in Thach Ha district; the end point is at Km 568+496.07 (coinciding with the starting point of the Vung Ang - Bung component project), in Ky Anh district.
