Promoting OCOP products on e-commerce platforms

In recent times, the People's Committee of Lac Duong district has directed functional units and branches to actively support OCOP units and entities to promote and introduce products; at the same time, put products on e-commerce platforms, promoting the digital economy of agriculture and rural areas in the area.

According to the People's Committee of Lac Duong district, by the end of 2024, the whole district had 78 products recognized as OCOP products with 3 stars or more; of which, 9 products achieved 4 stars, 69 products achieved 3 stars. By the end of 2025, Lac Duong district strives to develop at least 9 new products recognized as OCOP products; of which, at least 2 products achieved 4-star certification.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lac Duong district said that from the capital sources of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Socio-economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, Lac Duong district has supported people and businesses to invest in developing agricultural production in the direction of organic, smart, applying high technology, thereby diversifying occupations and aiming to build and develop typical products of the district.

Through the programs, people, especially ethnic minority households, have been motivated to boldly invest in new and advanced machinery, equipment and production lines to serve production. Thanks to that, the quality of agricultural products in Lac Duong district has gradually improved; production output has increased by 15-20% compared to before participating in the program; food safety and hygiene have been focused on; designs, packaging and labels have been improved to meet market requirements; trademark registration, branding, advertising and trade promotion have been given attention.

Every year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lac Duong district and related units have organized reviews and guided localities to survey and develop product ideas; survey plans, consult on product idea selection; implement projects to support product development; evaluate and classify OCOP products in the district.

On the other hand, the People's Committee of Lac Duong district has paid attention to directing and guiding OCOP units and entities to strengthen promotion and trade promotion. In particular, Lac Duong district has built a display area, introducing products at the Lac Duong district OCOP Center and helping entities promote OCOP products through the application of information technology in management and sales. In addition to traditional product consumption channels, many OCOP entities in the district are now selling on e-commerce sites such as: Lam Dong province's e-commerce platform, zalo, facebook, tiktok, shopee, postmart.vn... Thereby gradually affirming the brand, improving quality not only serving the domestic market but also aiming for export. In particular, to promote the development of the digital agricultural economy, Lac Duong district cooperates with Viettel Military Telecommunications Group to bring OCOP products to the e-commerce trading floor voso.vn with some typical local products.

According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai, recently, the promotion of e-commerce application in production and business activities is being actively implemented by enterprises, cooperatives and farmers in Lac Duong district. Currently, the locality has 6 products recognized as 4-star OCOP products on the e-commerce trading floor voso.vn including: red raspberry wine, black raspberry wine, red raspberry jam, black raspberry jam, Langbiang shiitake mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms. These products have been and are receiving positive reception and feedback from customers. According to enterprises, participating in e-commerce floors is a very practical activity to expand the market; at the same time, helping local specialty products not only reach the domestic market but also aim to expand the international market.

In the coming time, Lac Duong district will continue to focus on mobilizing support capital from the Central Government for the National Target Program on New Rural Construction; capital sources to restructure the agricultural sector towards comprehensiveness, sustainability and modernity; production support capital from the district People's Committee; counterpart capital from participating entities to enhance training in professional knowledge on production management and business management for leaders of cooperatives, cooperative groups, enterprises and households participating in the OCOP program in the area.

At the same time, expand investment in production development, strengthen trade promotion, enhance the brand value of Lac Duong OCOP products in the domestic market and aim for export. In particular, focus on branded OCOP products of Lac Duong district, following the value chain based on the strengths and advantages of local materials, culture and indigenous knowledge, especially specialties, craft village products and tourism services of villages, communes and communities in the direction of circular economy, ensuring a sustainable ecosystem in the area in the period of 2022 - 2025.
