The song was born in pride

When asked about his feelings when seeing "Continuing the Peace Story" go viral, the "father" of the song could not hide his pride: "I feel extremely moved and proud. This joy is greater than the joy of having a hit song, because this song has gone beyond the scope of a hit song and has been recognized and loved by many audiences of different ages, different professions, different fields, cadres, soldiers... who share the same Vietnamese blood, and are filled with love for the country. I am happy to contribute such a meaningful work to everyone, especially the youth."

For musician Nguyen Van Chung, the audience's acceptance and love for the song is the greatest happiness and pride.

Musician Nguyen Van Chung said the idea for this song came about while he and singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh were working on an album of the same name, with a consistent theme of homeland and country.

At that time, he selected songs he had composed as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, participating in composition campaigns about Uncle Ho, about soldiers, about the development of the city and the country in the new era. These songs covered many topics, ranging from the past, present to the future. Therefore, he wanted to have another theme song that could connect and summarize the spirit of the entire album and "Continue the story of peace" was born from that.

He also said that it was singer Duyen Quynh who encouraged him when he decided to make this album while not everyone had the confidence to invest in producing an album about the homeland - a topic that is quite selective of listeners, difficult to write, difficult to do, difficult to succeed. "Quynh also wanted to contribute her voice to dedicate to Quynh's father, a veteran, and his comrades. It can be said that Quynh is the right person in terms of ideology, passion, desire to contribute to art and vocal ability to sing this song." - musician Nguyen Van Chung expressed.

According to the author, the inspiration for this song came from the first mornings of the week, when he participated in the flag-raising ceremony with students at the Primary and Secondary School: "In the sound of the National Anthem, I watched the red flag with a yellow star fluttering in the wind, with the rays of dawn shining on it, I found it beautiful and extremely emotional. I felt an indescribable pride rising in my heart. And I kept that beautiful emotion and image to put into the last sentence of the song, I want everyone to feel that beauty like me."
