During the resistance war against the American imperialists to save the country, Truong Bon was called the "bomb bag", the "coordinate of fire" because tens of thousands of American bombs were dropped, aiming to cut off the vital route connecting the northern rear with the southern front. The section of National Highway 15 and the Ho Chi Minh Motorway passing through Truong Bon is about 5km long, but from June to October 1968 alone, it suffered 2,692 bombs of various types from the American enemy. Here, more than 1,240 cadres, soldiers, militia, youth volunteers, and workers in the transportation sector heroically sacrificed their lives.
