Swedish documentary "Vietnam's Victory" aired on VTV

The documentary captures the vibrant atmosphere in the Swedish capital Stockholm on the day Saigon was liberated, marking the end of the war in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30, the Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam, together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, held a ceremony to present the documentary film Victory Vietnam. The film, directed by Swedish director Bo Öhlén, chronicles the important events of April 30, 1975 in Sweden and demonstrates the strong friendship between Sweden and Vietnam.

Victory Vietnam, directed by Bo Öhlén and filmed on 30 April 1975, captures the excitement in Stockholm on the day Saigon was liberated, marking the end of the Vietnam War. The film shows Swedish people celebrating the Vietnamese victory, singing peace songs, holding banners in support of the National Liberation Front (FNL) and expressing deep solidarity with the Vietnamese people. In addition to the parade scenes and emotional speeches, the film also captures the political and material support from the international solidarity movement.

The documentary is a significant demonstration of the Swedish people's support for Vietnam and an important part of history. The fact that it was presented on the occasion of the 30th of April anniversary adds to the significance of the event. Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi emphasized: "This documentary demonstrates the deep friendship between Sweden and Vietnam. It reminds us that, at that difficult time, people all over the world, including Sweden, stood up to support Vietnam."

He added: "Through the film, we not only see the courage and resilience of the Vietnamese people but also recognize the human values ​​of peace and solidarity. I hope that the film Vietnam's Victory will continue to inspire future generations, so that they always remember the lessons of the past and build a future based on respect and cooperation."

In a message sent to the press, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: "Vietnam's Victory is an important documentary. The film authentically depicts the friendship and support of the Swedish people for Vietnam during this special historical period. We are proud to preserve the film as a valuable part of cultural heritage for future generations."

The film is currently being preserved at the Vietnam Film Institute, ensuring that this legacy will continue to inspire future generations. In the atmosphere of the people of the whole country joyfully celebrating the great national festival, VTV will broadcast the documentary Vietnam's Victory on April 30 on many VTV channels.
