Building a comprehensive literary and artistic foundation

50 years ago, artists working in the inner city, sympathetic to the revolution such as: The Vu, Vo Hong, Nguyen Hoang Thu, Le Ky Thuong, Tran Van Gia... together with artists returning from the war zone and the socialist North such as: Dao Xuan Quy, Giang Nam, Do Anh Tinh... to form the first generation of artists of Khanh Hoa province after the country's reunification. Promoting the spirit of solidarity, affection, and responsibility towards the homeland, the team of artists of Khanh Hoa always works hard, creates art to bring to the public literary and artistic works of high artistic value and humanity. From 1975 to present, artists of Khanh Hoa have produced thousands of works, many of which have won major domestic and international awards.

According to writer Hoang Nhat Tuyen - former Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, over the past 50 years, the province's literary creation has grown rapidly in both quantity and quality of authors and works. Literary genres are increasingly diverse, topics are expanding, from which literary works are increasingly interested, loved and read by the public. After 1975, the team of poets and writers in Khanh Hoa continued to develop with writers such as: Nguyen Gia Nung, Cao Duy Thao, Nguyen Khac Phuc, Dong Xuan Lan, Cao Linh Quan, Do Kim Cuong, Dang Trieu Phong, Ngo Xuan Hoi, Quy The, Hoang Nhat Tuyen...

Playwright Nguyen Sy Chuc - former Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association said that although there have been many changes in organization, over the past 50 years, the stage staff in Khanh Hoa has made many contributions to the development of culture and arts. Every year, the province's stage art troupes have continuously organized performances to serve the people. The work of researching and writing stage scripts has also been focused on and promoted with the contributions of authors: Mich Quang, Nguyen Sy Chuc, Le Nhi Ha, Nguyen The Khoa, etc.

In addition to the two majors mentioned above, other majors such as: Fine Arts, Photography, Music, Folk Arts have also grown remarkably and left a deep impression on the public. Songs such as: Congratulations on Nha Trang Liberation (Hoang Tho Huy), Nha Trang Autumn Comes Back (Van Ky), Nha Trang City I Love (Van Dung) ... laid the initial foundation for the period of free and independent music in Khanh Hoa. Many musical works by Khanh Hoa musicians have been selected to be staged in art programs and major celebrations of the province, as well as the country. With the photography major, from the first art photography group established in 1981, to date the number of photography members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has increased to more than 60 people. Many photographers of the province have been awarded noble titles by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the International Federation of Photography (FIAP). In the early years after the country's liberation, the number of painters and sculptors working professionally in Khanh Hoa was not large. However, up to now, the team of painters and sculptors has been increasingly developed, many generations of painters and sculptors with capacity, professional qualifications, and training have contributed to creating a diverse appearance in Khanh Hoa's fine arts activities, effectively contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people. Regarding the field of folk arts, those who collect and research folk culture and arts have also continuously developed in both the number of authors and the quality of research works when receiving many awards from the Vietnam Folk Arts Association every year.

Patriotic inspiration is the main theme

Studying the province's literary and artistic activities over the past 50 years, it is easy to see that there are a large number of works created from patriotic inspiration with themes of patriotism, humanity, and deep attachment to the destiny of the nation. Each literary and artistic work both meets the people's need for artistic enjoyment and serves political tasks. In addition, artists also exploit themes that truly reflect working life and many aspects of everyday life. Besides the theme of revolutionary war, which still holds an important position, building a new life, learning about local cultural values, social issues, daily life, etc. have also received attention from many artists. In recent years, the theme that artists have been interested in creating is the process of realizing the aspiration to build a rich and beautiful Khanh Hoa province.

According to artist Tran Ha - Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, over the past 50 years, the province's literature and arts activities have achieved many positive and comprehensive results with new, more professional developments. The team of artists and writers has closely followed the Party's cultural and artistic guidelines, vividly and diversely reflecting the development practices of the homeland and the country. The activities of popularizing, composing and promoting works have increasingly developed, attracting a large number of artists and people from all walks of life to participate. In the coming time, literature and arts activities will focus on arousing and promoting cultural traditions, revolutionary traditions, the spirit of love for the homeland and the country, the sense of self-reliance, self-reliance, initiative and creativity. The common goal is that literature and arts must contribute more to building Khanh Hoa people with good personalities and lifestyles.

To achieve that, along with the attention of local Party committees, authorities, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the artists in the province need to innovate and diversify the content and methods of organizing activities in line with the practical life of society and the needs of the people; encourage and create conditions for people to proactively organize community cultural and artistic activities; gradually narrow the gap in cultural enjoyment between urban and rural areas, between regions; focus on developing the culture of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the province. Along with that, focus on building and developing the artists; amend and supplement the regimes and policies for the artists in accordance with the actual situation; breakthrough mechanisms for developing cultural and artistic activities...

To date, Khanh Hoa province has 8 artists who are members of the provincial Literature and Arts Association receiving the State Award for Literature and Arts, including: the late poet Giang Nam, the late musician To Hai, the late musician Van Chung, playwright Nguyen Sy Chuc, musician Hinh Phuoc Long, researcher Mich Quang, musician Nguyen Tien Lieu, musician Hinh Phuoc Lien. In the field of performing arts, 5 artists have been awarded the title of People's Artist by the State (Thu Ha, Kim Hung, Xuan Hung, Phung Thi Binh, Linh Nham) and 14 artists have been awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
