BHG - In the endless flow of national history, revolutionary tradition has always been a sacred flame, warming the spirit of patriotism and strongly inspiring many generations of Vietnamese people. Now, when the country enters a period of integration and development, that tradition still retains its value, becoming a fulcrum for the youth to continue noble ideals and build a bright future.

Half a century ago, under the wise leadership of the Party and beloved President Ho Chi Minh, with the desire for peace, our army and people achieved the historic victory of Spring 1975. April 30, 1975 was a brilliant milestone in the history of Vietnam, ending many years of arduous resistance, opening an era of independence, freedom, and the whole country moving towards socialism. The victory of Spring 1975 was the result of the strength of great national unity, the correct leadership of the Party and the ardent patriotism, iron will, and a spirit of determination to fight and win of Uncle Ho's soldiers. The heroic memories of the years of arduous fighting, the brave fighting spirit, the comradeship of previous generations are vivid historical pages to foster revolutionary traditions and ideals in the hearts of today's young generation.

Veteran Nong Van Thuan, born in 1950, in Na Xa village, Yen Dinh commune (Bac Me), who participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, shared: In 1968, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, I joined the army and was trained in Hanoi capital in communications, then moved to battlefield B, belonging to Regiment 274, Division 361. We marched quickly to the South, full of enthusiasm. Everyone understood that this was an important moment for the nation, on the march, we almost did not rest, ate rice balls, drank spring water, slept in tunnels; as a communications soldier belonging to the force ensuring communications for the campaign, our job did not involve holding guns and directly charging like the infantry units, but it was no less difficult and dangerous. When marching, we carried telegraph machines weighing tens of kilograms, even when the battle was fierce or the enemy used jammers, my comrades and I had to find every way to ensure communication between the commander and the troops. On April 30, when I heard the news of the liberation flag flying over the roof of the Independence Palace, I burst into tears in the happiness of national independence. For me, the Ho Chi Minh Campaign is an unforgettable memory.

In the context of the country's strong integration and development, more than ever, Ha Giang youth in particular and the youth of the whole country in general have been promoting the revolutionary spirit and national pride; constantly improving knowledge, improving professional qualifications, mastering modern science and technology, following the path that our ancestors have worked hard to build, contributing to building our homeland Ha Giang more and more beautiful. Nguyen Tran Huong Tra, a student of class 12c2 at Bac Me High School, confided: Following the revolutionary tradition of our ancestors, I constantly try to study well to become a useful person for society in the future. With my academic achievements, I received a Certificate of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and many certificates of merit from the district and school leaders. In 2025, I am very honored to be in the ranks of the Party. I always believe in the leadership of the Party, in the bright future of the country, worthy of the noble sacrifices of previous generations.

After 50 years of national reunification, we have made remarkable progress in all aspects. From a country devastated by war, our country has risen strongly to become a peaceful, developed and deeply integrated country. These achievements are clear evidence of the indomitable spirit, solidarity and intelligence of the entire nation. Today's young generation is always proud of the glorious achievements of the nation, and is even more grateful to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The tradition of April 30 is forever a profound lesson about the strength of great national unity and the will "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom".
