Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests review and removal of advertisements related to "fake milk"

Based on the list of 84 dairy products that have just been announced by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Health to be recalled and recommended not to be used, on April 26, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent an official dispatch to cross-border social networking platforms, general information websites, and domestic social networks requesting to review and remove all advertisements related to the above products.

Specifically, to ensure the rights and health safety of the people, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests that general electronic information sites and domestic and cross-border social networks providing services in Vietnam, including Meta, Google and TikTok Pte. Ltd... urgently review, detect, prevent and remove advertisements related to 84 dairy products on the list of recalled and recommended not to use by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Health on platforms and applications provided and managed by these units.

At the same time, relevant units regularly update the list of products, goods and services that are required to be recalled or recommended not to be used from the Electronic Information Portal of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Health and competent authorities, in order to promptly review and remove violating advertising content.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized the requirement to strictly implement legal regulations on advertising on the Internet, especially for nutritional products, functional foods and special goods and services as prescribed in current legal documents.

When detecting illegal advertising content online, people can report it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the following ways: Website of the Vietnam Center for Handling Fake News and Toxic Information: https://tingia.gov.vn/ ; directly to the address of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, 9th floor, 115 Tran Duy Hung, Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi (Radio Frequency Department building).

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requires social networking service platforms to strengthen strict censorship of content on social networks under their management; coordinate to prevent illegal advertising content on the network, promptly remove illegal advertising when detected or when requested by competent authorities.

Along with that, notify users to be careful when posting, sharing advertising content, introducing products, goods, services online, especially advertising special products, goods, services according to the provisions of the law on advertising and report to competent authorities when detecting advertising content with signs of violation.
