On this occasion, Vinamilk visited and presented 12,000 nutritional products to more than 650 wounded and sick soldiers being cared for at Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center (Bac Ninh), Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Center (Ha Nam), Nghe An Mental and Neurological War Invalids Nursing Center, and Vietnam Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Support Center (Hanoi). Vinamilk also accompanied the 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day organized by the Standing Committee of the Resistance Tradition Liaison Committee of the Central Office of the Southern Region in Tay Ninh. 50 years since the country's reunification, the Vietnamese people have been living in peace, but the memories of war are still vivid. Those are the wounds that have been deeply engraved on the body and mind, turning into war sequelae. What the veterans carry with them to this day is the clearest evidence of the brutality of war, and also a beautiful symbol of sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Mr. Ngoc Anh - representative of Vinamilk Hanoi Branch, emotionally shared: "These hands used to hold guns tightly, these steps used to not tremble in front of the enemy. Now, although their health has somewhat declined, their fighting spirit and winning spirit are still burning with enthusiasm. I hope that you will always feel that the next generation will always remember the sacrifices and losses of you for today's peace."
Visiting centers for caring for war invalids and veterans is also an annual activity maintained by Tien Son Milk Factory (Vinamilk Bac Ninh). Mr. Nguyen Chi Cuong, Factory Director, shared: "Returning to the center after a few years, I am happy to see familiar faces again, some of whom still remember me. But there are also some who, in just one look, I see that they have returned to their old comrades." Representatives of the centers said that there are wounded soldiers who are still healthy and have intact memories of their years on the battlefield, but now have no family to return to. There are also soldiers who still have families and homes, but because of their poor health and need special care, they have to stay at the center. The visits and gifts filled with love and gratitude from visiting delegations are a great source of spiritual encouragement for these soldiers. Visiting war invalids and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers has become a tradition of “repaying gratitude” and “remembering the source of water” that Vinamilk always preserves, especially when the whole country is looking forward to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Many war invalids, despite their old age and poor health, are still very happy to recognize familiar members of Vinamilk who have visited them many times.
Recalling his visit to Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center (Bac Ninh) - where 90% of war invalids suffer from spinal injuries leading to hemiplegia, Mr. Tran Nguyen Chanh - an employee of Tien Son Milk Factory expressed: "We don't know how hard war wounds will be for the veterans when the weather changes. We just hope that when they are still healthy, we can take care of them and share with them as much as possible." Without the need for flowery words or elaborate formalities, the moment of meeting between the two generations continued to tell the story of patriotism, of the continuation of national pride. " Freedom and peace do not come easily. To have today, we must try to preserve it" - the message of a veteran spreading on social networks these days was also felt most clearly by the delegation during the visit. "Thank you to the previous generation who spent their youth fighting and sacrificing so that today we can grow up in peace," Ms. Phuong Anh - an employee of Tien Son Milk Factory, emotionally shared.
Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, throughout the historic month of April, Vinamilk has carried out many accompanying activities, giving away more than 800,000 nutritional gifts. In addition to showing gratitude to previous generations, Vinamilk also focuses on nurturing future generations through the Vietnam Rising Milk Fund, encouraging disadvantaged workers, and participating in major events in Ho Chi Minh City, joining in the atmosphere of "The Country is Full of Joy".
