Sending off 12 martyrs who died in a drill to their final resting place

(NLDO) - The sacrifice of the martyrs is an extremely great loss and pain for the army, Military Region 7 and localities.


At noon on December 8, at the Southern National Funeral Home (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), Military Region 7 held a memorial service for 12 martyrs who died while performing a drill mission on December 2, 2024. Representatives of central and local leaders, inside and outside the military, people, and relatives of the martyrs attended the memorial service and sent the martyrs to their final resting place.

Memorial to the martyrs

At the memorial service, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7 read the eulogy. He emphasized that the sacrifice of the martyrs was an extremely great loss and pain for the army, Military Region 7, the provinces of Binh Thuan, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and their families.

According to Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, the sacrifice of the martyrs demonstrated their bravery, determination, and disregard for difficulties, hardships, and dangers in carrying out the exercise mission; and their readiness for combat plans to protect the peace of the Fatherland and a prosperous and happy life for the people.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Commander of Military Region 7 (right), Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7 (left) bid farewell to the martyrs.

This sacrifice is a testament to the tradition of loyalty to the country and filial piety to the people; demonstrating the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era, regardless of any circumstances, not afraid of difficulties, challenges, and dangers to fulfill the sacred duty of a soldier.

"Our twelve beloved soldiers have passed away forever at the age of twenty, full of life and many aspirations, leaving behind endless pain and regret that nothing can compensate for" - Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc shared.

The martyrs will be buried in their homeland's martyr cemetery.

According to Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, the 12 martyrs were very young soldiers, at the most beautiful age of their lives; they put aside their ambitions and dreams to join the army, fulfilling the sacred duty of citizens to the Fatherland. The martyrs were always shining examples in work, study and training. With a simple, harmonious lifestyle, devoted to their comrades and teammates, they were always loved and respected by the collective of officers and soldiers of the unit, as well as friends and relatives.

According to Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, Standing Party Committee, Military Region 7 Command; local authorities, people and all officers and soldiers share the great and irreparable loss with the martyrs' families.

Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc respectfully hopes that the families of the martyrs will suppress their grief and loss to continue to rise up, worthy of the heroic sacrifice of the martyrs.

Bringing martyrs back to their homeland

The armed forces of Military Region 7 vow to strive to learn and follow the heroic sacrifices of the martyrs, upholding their determination; together with the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, successfully carry out the task of building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern army, and excellently complete all assigned tasks. Continue to better carry out combat missions in peacetime, protecting the peaceful and happy lives of the people for whom you fought and sacrificed.
