From April 28 to 29, medical stations in Hai Duong simultaneously organized measles vaccination for children.

The total number of children vaccinated this time is 3,980, including 1,750 children from 6 to under 9 months old and 2,230 children from 11 to under 15 years old. After this vaccination, the units will organize additional vaccinations on May 9 and 10.

Previously, in the measles vaccination campaign at the end of March, the whole province had 9,573 children vaccinated, reaching a rate of 95.27%. Of which, the vaccination rate for children aged 6 to under 9 months reached 90.3%, from 1 to 5 years old reached 97.14% and from 6 to 10 years old reached 97.08%.

From the beginning of the year to the end of April, Hai Duong recorded nearly 700 measles cases while there were no cases in the same period in 2024. About 92% of measles cases were unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated. In the past two weeks, the number of measles cases in the province has decreased. However, measles prevention should not be taken lightly. Measles vaccination is the optimal solution to create community immunity and limit the spread of the disease.
