Attending the gift-giving ceremony were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Provincial Border Guard Command; Department of Agriculture and Environment; and Kim Son district.
Two poor fishing families received financial support to build houses, namely Mrs. Tran Thi Oanh's family in hamlet 8, Kim Tan commune and Mrs. Pham Thi Lan's family in hamlet 5, Kim Tan commune with a support level of 50 million VND/household.
Ten other fishing households in difficult circumstances also received livelihood support of 10 million VND/household.
All of this support money is sponsored by benefactors through the program "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen" of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
In addition, Kim Son district also provided support to the families of Ms. Tran Thi Oanh and Pham Thi Lan with 10 million VND/household to build houses; the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department gave gifts to 12 fishing families in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 500,000 VND.
The support of departments, branches, localities and philanthropists has helped fishermen in difficult circumstances to have solid houses to settle down and start a business; have stable livelihoods to generate income. Such practical concern is also a great source of encouragement for households to have more motivation to improve their lives, feel secure at sea, and ensure social security in the area.
