According to current regulations, Thursday, May 1, 2025 is International Labor Day (the second day of the April 30 - May 1, 2025 holiday). Therefore, the management of gasoline prices following the management period on April 24, 2025 will be implemented on Monday, May 5, 2025 (the first working day after the holiday).
In Official Dispatch No. 589/TTTN-XD dated April 28, 2025 sent to the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and centrally run cities; key petroleum traders and petroleum distributors, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development said that on November 17, 2023, the Government issued Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading.
In this Decree, the time for managing gasoline prices is carried out on Thursdays every week. However, the Decree also clearly states that if Thursday falls on the last day of the Lunar year (29th or 30th of the Lunar New Year), the management of gasoline prices will be carried out on the preceding Wednesday. If Thursday falls on the first, second or third day of the Lunar New Year, the time for managing gasoline prices will be carried out on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year.
In case the fifth day coincides with the first day of a holiday, the time for managing petrol prices will be implemented on the preceding Wednesday. If the fifth day coincides with the remaining holidays, the time for managing petrol prices will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.
