The drill aims to raise awareness and responsibility of units and businesses operating tourist boats in fire prevention and fighting; at the same time, check the ability to coordinate in handling incidents on the river. This is also a proactive step to check fire prevention and fighting safety during the city's peak tourist season.

The hypothetical situation was a fire that started in the engine area of the ship due to an electrical short circuit while the ship was carrying tourists. The fire spread quickly, creating toxic smoke and threatening the lives of tourists and staff. As soon as the fire was detected, the local forces organized initial rescue and notified the professional forces to come to the scene to handle the situation. Participating in the exercise were 26 officers and soldiers from the Fire Police and Rescue Teams on the River and Area 1, along with many specialized vehicles and modern rescue equipment.

During the exercise, the units coordinated smoothly between local forces and professional forces in plans to approach the scene, extinguish the fire, rescue victims and safely evacuate property.

A representative of the Da Nang Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department said that the exercise was conducted seriously and effectively, meeting the requirements, contributing to improving the capacity to handle real incidents, minimizing damage to people and property when an emergency situation occurs.
