"With its rugged terrain, Giong Tra Den played an important role in protecting the transportation route of food, weapons, and revolutionary documents throughout the Mekong Delta" - Ms. Le Tien Huong (a veteran revolutionary cadre of Vinh Hoa commune) recalled.

Nowadays, Giong Tra Den has become a highlight in revolutionary tradition education. The old revolutionary base area has put on a new coat. People have changed the structure of crops and livestock towards commodities; promoted the application of science and technology in production, such as: Spraying pesticides with drones, growing orchids in greenhouses... Cooperatives and cooperatives have been consolidated, linking production according to the value chain that is being formed and developed.

Chairman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Long said that the total agricultural cultivation area of ​​the commune in the past 5 years is more than 13,000 hectares, including 10,600 hectares of rice, nearly 1,800 hectares of vegetables and more than 700 hectares of fruit trees. The model of "3 reductions, 3 increases", "1 must, 5 reductions" has been widely replicated, contributing to increasing the output and quality of agricultural products. Becoming a new rural commune, Tan Thanh has invested in building roads, irrigation, electricity, schools, and medical stations, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development. This is an important premise to help people get rich.

Along with economic development, cultural and social life has made much progress. Cultural, artistic and sports activities have received increasing attention; the movement of “All people unite to build a cultural life” has been promoted and improved. The rate of mobilizing students to attend classes is high; programs to encourage learning and talent are organized regularly, contributing to reducing the rate of students dropping out of school.

Not only the story of Giong Tra Den, promoting the revolutionary spirit, over the past 50 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Chau town have constantly strived to rise up, building the homeland of silk to become more and more beautiful. In the economic field, the growth rate of the town is very stable, maintaining a good speed; the economic structure has shifted positively towards increasing the proportion of trade - services. The average income per capita in 2024 will reach 80.33 million VND, 8.25 times higher than in 2009.

Trade and services have become one of the three key sectors, with retail sales of goods and social consumption growing every year. Vinh Xuong international road and waterway border gates play an important role in the import and export of goods in the province and the southern region.

“Tan Chau Town achieved the standard of a type III urban area in 2019, but agriculture is still the “pillar” of the economy. Therefore, in recent times, agriculture has continued to be invested in and developed, on the one hand to ensure food security, on the other hand to provide raw materials for the processing industry. Production is always linked to the consumer market, while focusing on quality rather than quantity” - Vice Chairman of Tan Chau Town People's Committee Dang Van Ne shared.

The town focuses on investing in developing urban infrastructure, upgrading inter-regional connecting roads, expanding Nguyen Tri Phuong, Nguyen Cong Nhan, Ton Duc Thang streets... to help the urban face become more and more spacious and modern. Key projects are being implemented; traffic, electricity, water, and telecommunications systems are being upgraded and expanded. The locality is gradually applying information technology to urban management and providing public services. "Cultural and sports activities are being organized regularly, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people. Social security is being ensured, policies to support the poor and policy families are being implemented promptly and effectively" - Chairman of Tan Chau Town People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Lam affirmed.

The achievements that Tan Chau Town has achieved in the past 50 years are the result of the efforts, solidarity, and promotion of the revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, the government, and the people in the area.
