From the traditional "rice granary" to high-tech production is the impressive development of the province. Reality proves that agriculture always plays a key role in the economic structure of An Giang. From traditional farming methods, the province has boldly transferred science and technology, applied high-yield and high-quality crop and livestock varieties. The "Large Field" model, linking production according to the value chain is increasingly being replicated, helping to improve production efficiency and income for farmers. In the first quarter of 2025, the growth of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.55% over the same period last year.

Over the past 50 years, An Giang has invested heavily in developing infrastructure systems for transportation, irrigation, electricity, telecommunications, etc. Key traffic routes have been upgraded and expanded, connecting An Giang with provinces and cities in the region and the whole country, such as: Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project; Long Xuyen city bypass; completion of Chau Doc bridge... have been focused on directing and accelerating progress. The electricity and telecommunications network is widespread, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development and improving people's quality of life. The urbanization process is taking place rapidly, the central urban areas of Long Xuyen, Chau Doc and localities are increasingly modern and civilized. An Giang always attaches importance to socio-cultural development, preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values ​​of the land. In 2024, the Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, a source of pride for the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang in particular, the Southern region and Vietnam in general. Social security policies are effectively implemented. National defense and security are ensured; the great national unity bloc is strengthened; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved.
