On August 4, Khanh Binh Border Gate Customs Branch, An Giang Customs Department said that the unit had handed over Tang Hour (born in 1982, living in Phnom Penh city, Cambodia) along with documents and exhibits to An Giang Provincial Police to continue investigating and clarifying the case of illegal transportation of 1.2 kg of gold through Khanh Binh Border Gate (An Phu district, An Giang province).

Previously, at around 8:40 a.m. on August 1, officers of the Khanh Binh Border Gate Joint Road Control Station coordinated with the Long Binh Border Gate Border Guard Station and the An Phu District Police, An Giang Province, to discover a man about 40 years old carrying a black plastic bag walking into the exit lane for vehicles instead of entering the exit lane for passengers from Vietnam to Cambodia.

Realizing that this man had suspicious signs, the control force invited him to the luggage inspection area of ​​the Khanh Binh Border Gate Joint Control Station to carry out screening procedures.

Through the X-ray machine, the border gate officers discovered many round metal objects inside the plastic bag. Based on the suspicious images, Khanh Binh Border Gate Customs Branch invited the man carrying the bag to the branch headquarters for a key inspection.

Tang Hour and the evidence were caught red-handed.

As a result, the plastic bag contained more than 370 yellow metal rings weighing approximately 1.2kg. The appraisal results showed that the metal was gold, estimated to be worth approximately 1.4 billion VND.

Evidence of the case

Working with the authorities, the man confessed that his name was Tang Hour (born in 1982, living in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia); the gold was received from a man named Truong in Vietnam to transport to Cambodia to deliver to Kong Ji for a fee of 10 USD.

The joint control force has drawn up a record of the arrest of the criminal Tang Hour, and at the same time temporarily seized related evidence.

* On the same day, August 4, Son La Provincial Police said that Moc Chau District Police had just presided over and coordinated with Van Ho District Police, Provincial Police Department, Long Sap Border Gate Customs Sub-Department, Long Sap Border Gate Border Guard Station to arrest 2 subjects for illegally transporting drugs in Bo Sap village, Long Sap commune (Moc Chau district).

The two arrested subjects are Phang Thi Chu (born in 1988) and Mua Thi Chu (born in 1989), both residing in Chieng Xuan commune, Van Ho district, Son La. The seized evidence includes: 3 heroin cakes weighing nearly 1.16 kg; 11,866 synthetic drug pills weighing more than 900 grams; 4 opium resin packages weighing more than 530 grams and some related evidence.

Expanding the investigation, the Investigation Police Agency, Moc Chau District Police issued an emergency detention order and an emergency arrest order for Mua Thi Mua (born in 1987, residing in Chieng Xuan commune, Van Ho district, Son La) also for the act of illegally transporting drugs.

At the police station, the subjects confessed to their violations.
