At the APFNet Council meeting on April 23, Dr. Sokh Heng (Cambodia) was re-elected as Chairman of the APFNet Council until 2028. The Council listened to the Secretariat's report on the 2024 performance and the 2025 work plan; reviewed and approved the APFNet Operating Regulations. Delegates also discussed the Framework Outline for the APFNet Strategic Plan for the period 2026 - 2030.
The conference also acknowledged the achievements and progress of the SANFRI Initiative, the Project “Developing Community Participatory Management in the Bengawan Solo Watershed (Phase I and II)”; these contents were shared to promote information exchange and enhance cooperation among APFNet Council members.

Within the framework of the conference activities, on April 24, delegates participated in a field trip to Hon Ba Nature Reserve to learn about the public-private partnership model in forest restoration and increasing socio-economic benefits, leasing forest environment; planting forests in the reserve; learning about the policy of forest protection contracting to the community...
It is known that APFNet was established in 2007 according to the Declaration on Climate Change, Food Security and Clean Development of APEC leaders in Sydney, Australia.
