Building model farms using funds from the "Supporting Farmers" program.

This is the 15th year that the "Supporting Farmers" program has been organized. The program has supported 2,620 farming households in 24 provinces and cities across the country. Women account for 95% of the participants. The majority of households that received capital assistance have been operating effectively, with a repayment rate of over 94%.

In addition, with the desire to bring practical value to the lives of farmers, ACECOOK Vietnam Joint Stock Company supports participating farmers with gifts of instant noodles from the company.

Speaking at the funding ceremony, Ms. Phuong Thi Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council of Bac Kan, stated that Bac Kan is one of the most disadvantaged provinces in the country. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Bac Kan thanked Tuoi Tre newspaper and the sponsor GREENFEED for their practical and humane support program for farmers.

Ms. Thanh stated that Bac Kan is the most disadvantaged province in the country. The percentage of poor and near-poor households is still over 30%. The entire province has 67 communes and 148 villages and hamlets in Zone 3 - a particularly difficult area. In Binh Trung commune alone, the percentage of poor and near-poor households is also over 40%.

The support from the program has been a great motivation for these households to rise out of poverty and develop their economy .

Ms. Thanh suggested that the leaders of the Farmers' Association and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Kan province coordinate with the local authorities to build a model using these resources.

Ms. Thanh argued that if the same resources were left for individual farmers to manage independently, the impact would be less widespread.

"I suggest that the departments, agencies, and localities here should sit down together and discuss this matter in depth. We must build a model, strengthen propaganda, provide guidance, offer technical training, and finally, calculate the output for the people. We must constantly monitor and support the people to build an effective model," Ms. Thanh said.

Journalist Nguyen Duc Binh, deputy head of Tuoi Tre newspaper's representative office in Hanoi, said that through the program, Tuoi Tre newspaper hopes to motivate farmers to overcome difficulties and develop their economy.

Besides providing capital, the program always accompanies the people throughout the loan process to help them gain more technical skills and experience, thereby creating long-term livelihoods.

Journalist Nguyen Duc Binh also suggested that the local Farmers' Association and Youth Union continue to closely monitor and support the loan funds to ensure their most effective use. "When livestock farmers are efficient and repay their loans on time, these funds will continue to circulate to other farmers so that more farmers can benefit from the program," said journalist Nguyen Duc Binh.

Mr. Nguyen Doan Hoi, assistant project manager of Farm Northern Region 1, said that providing new capital is just the starting point. GREENFEED will continue to send technical staff to closely monitor and guide farmers in raising livestock effectively.

"In reality, people in remote areas not only lack capital but also experience and business techniques. We have partners who are professional livestock farmers; they have new and modern methods that can help people change their mindset about doing business. From there, they can find effective ways to improve their lives and income," Mr. Hoi said.
