According to the New York Post, Iran announced on June 19 that it would continue to close the Strait of Hormuz instead of sending a delegation to Switzerland for the first round of nuclear talks with the United States as previously agreed.
BREAKING NEWS: Iran again announces closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
(NLDO) - Tehran has announced it will continue its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and will not participate in the planned nuclear talks with the US in Switzerland.
In a statement broadcast on maritime communication channels, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that the United States has not fully fulfilled its commitments in the memorandum signed by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on June 18.
According to the IRGC, Israel's failure to withdraw from Lebanon, the incomplete lifting of the naval blockade, and the continued presence of US troops in the Gulf do not meet the key conditions of the agreement.

Therefore, Tehran insists that the Strait of Hormuz will remain blockaded until these demands are met.
The IRGC also warned all vessels not to enter the area for safety reasons, stating that any vessel ignoring the directive could become a target of attack.

Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had officially ended the two-month blockade of Iranian ports.
However, Tehran claims that the lifting of the sanctions is not yet "complete," but does not elaborate.
The IRGC's announcement came just hours after the US-Iran nuclear talks, scheduled to take place in Switzerland on June 19, were canceled. To date, Washington has not given a reason for the postponement.
