Ho Chi Minh City dismisses a deputy chairman of the People's Committee.
Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong has resigned from his position as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and simultaneously, two department directors, Nguyen Van Hieu and Nguyen Van Dong, have also resigned from their positions as members of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

The dismissal of three members of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee was approved by the delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council at the 3rd session of the 11th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 2026-2031, on the afternoon of June 19.
Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, 51 years old, a member of the City Party Committee, has held the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City since 2022 and continues to hold this position after the city merged with the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces .
He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering, previously served as Director of the Department of Transportation (later the Department of Construction), Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, and participated in resolving obstacles in the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro project.
As Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Cuong was in charge of transportation, public investment, ODA projects, urban railways, architecture, and urban development. After Mr. Cuong resigned, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee now consists of seven members: Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc and six other vice chairmen: Nguyen Loc Ha, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Bui Minh Thanh, Nguyen Cong Vinh, Hoang Nguyen Dinh, and Tran Van Bay.
At the meeting, the People's Council delegates also unanimously voted to relieve two department directors from their positions as members of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee: Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training, and Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion.
The top scorer in Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam achieved 29.75/30 points.With an entrance exam score of 29.75, Tran Minh Ha, a student from Newton Secondary and High School, became the top scorer in the 2026 public high school entrance exam.
