Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu was born in 1978, from Quang Binh; PhD in Law, Bachelor of Economics, Senior in Politics.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu was recruited from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law to the Ministry of Justice in 2011. At that time, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of International Law.

In September 2015, he was transferred to work at the Department of Civil and Economic Law, appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Civil and Economic Law, assigned to the position of Acting Director of the Department of Civil and Economic Law, then held the position of Director of the Department of Civil and Economic Law until he was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice.

Thus, the current leadership of the Ministry of Justice includes Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh and 5 Deputy Ministers: Dang Hoang Oanh, Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Mai Luong Khoi, Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, Nguyen Thanh Tu.
