As the capital city of the province - Ha Long has always been one of the important locomotives, contributing to the growth of Quang Ninh, so right after the province adjusted the growth target to 14%, Ha Long City determined to increase economic growth by 18.8% in 2025, with a budget revenue of over 10,000 billion VND (an increase of 1,000 billion VND compared to the target assigned by the province).
Currently, there are nearly 5,600 enterprises and over 12,300 individual business households in the city that are tax-managed. This is one of the favorable conditions for the city to be able to complete the set goals for 2025. To mobilize the participation of the entire political system, on January 23, 2025, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee issued Resolution No. 89-NQ/TU on strengthening management solutions, sustainable exploitation of revenue sources, and preventing state budget losses in the city in the period of 2025-2030; implementing many new solutions, ensuring focus, key points, science, clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities for performing economic development tasks.
Ha Long City also promotes the disbursement of public investment capital, resolutely implementing projects in the area to ensure progress and quality of works for early use.
With drastic and effective solutions, in the first 2 months of 2025, domestic revenue targets in the city reached over 2,750 billion VND, equal to 130% compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, 6/12 targets achieved and exceeded the average revenue progress.
Along with Ha Long, the northern city of Mong Cai is also highly determined to effectively implement economic development tasks, in which the city has adjusted the implementation task in the growth of production value of economic sectors to reach 19.1% or more with a value of about 22,666 billion VND. Of which: Agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 8% or more, with a value of over 2,000 billion VND; Industry and construction increased by 19% or more, with a value of over 11,600 billion VND; Trade and service increased by 20% or more, with a value of over 9,000 billion VND.
To unblock and effectively utilize investment resources, the city has selected 18 new key and dynamic projects to focus on solving; established a special working group to focus on solving and propose to competent authorities to completely resolve difficulties to speed up the construction progress of more than 10 important projects being implemented in the area.
As for the area with many industrial parks, especially processing and manufacturing enterprises, Quang Yen Town has adjusted the growth rate target of production value in 2025 from 14.5% to 18.9%. Of which, services will increase by 23% or more; industry and construction will increase by 16.1% or more; agriculture, forestry and fishery will increase by 9.5% or more; striving to disburse 100% of the total allocated capital for basic construction investment.
It is expected that in the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group will produce over 9 million tons of clean coal and consume over 13 million tons of coal, promptly meeting consumption demand.
As one of the three pillars of national energy security, contributing about 1/4 of GRDP and nearly 40% of domestic budget revenue of Quang Ninh province, the coal industry is determined to achieve the highest production and business targets set for 2025.
Along with the coal industry, the tourism industry is also implementing solutions to promote and attract tourists, especially international tourists, with the goal of reaching a total of over 20 million tourists in 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors, with tourism revenue reaching 55,000 billion VND.
With great efforts, great determination, clear implementation of people, work and results by all levels, sectors and localities from the province to the grassroots, Quang Ninh will complete the socio-economic development tasks set for 2025.
