Prime Minister visits beef factory invested by leading Vietnamese and Japanese corporations

On the morning of March 16, during his working program in Vinh Phuc province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Tam Dao beef farm and processing factory complex and inspected the development area of ​​the Tam Dao 2 eco-tourism resort project (Tam Dao district).

Accompanying the Prime Minister were Party Central Committee members: Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phong; leaders of ministries, branches, central and local agencies.

Tam Dao beef farm and processing factory complex is a prominent project of Vinh Phuc province, invested and implemented by Vietnam Livestock Corporation (Vilico - a member of Vinamilk) and Sojitz multi-industry corporation (Japan).

This is the first result of realizing the memorandum of understanding (MOU) worth 500 million USD signed between Vinh Phuc province - Sojitz - Vilico - Vinamilk, witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Vietnam - Japan Investment Promotion Conference 2021 (in Japan).

With a total investment of VND 1,670 billion, the complex in Vinh Phuc was officially started in 2023 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations and completed the entire construction investment in 2024, in which the beef processing factory will officially come into operation from the fourth quarter of 2024.

This beef processing plant has a capacity of up to 30,000 heads/year, equivalent to an output of 10,000 tons of meat/year. The beef cattle farm has the capacity to raise up to 10,000 heads, expected to be operational from May 2025.

Sojitz Vietnam General Director Mizushima Kozo thanked the Vietnamese Government and agencies for their support for the project.

This project not only marks the cooperation between leading corporations of the two countries Vietnam and Japan, but also elevates Vietnam's high-tech livestock and processing industry, increasing the ability to participate more deeply in the global production and supply chain. From there, it will better meet the domestic market demand, aiming to export "made in Vietnam" beef, especially high-quality fresh and cooled beef products to many countries around the world.

Speaking here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Sojitz and its partners for overcoming difficulties and challenges, especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to invest in Vinh Phuc with a large-scale investment project in the field of agriculture and food, according to Japanese standards and high technology, practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing relations and contributing to promoting Vietnam - Japan relations.

This project has many meanings in many aspects, especially contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, comprehensive human development, health care, improving the physical strength and stature of Vietnamese people.

Regarding the work in the coming time, the Prime Minister requested investors to quickly restore the environment, ensuring green and clean; promote production and business according to the design capacity; prepare raw material areas well; apply high and modern technology, develop digital economy and green economy; ensure food safety and hygiene at the highest level according to international standards; actively participate in ensuring social security.

The Prime Minister also asked Sojitz to continue to cooperate well with Vinamilk in implementing agreements; Sojitz and enterprises to research and expand investment, build production and business bases in localities of Vietnam in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.

Earlier, the same morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the development area of ​​the Tam Dao 2 eco-tourism resort project (Tam Dao district).

The Prime Minister directed that the project development must ensure a clean, green and beautiful landscape, pay attention to protecting forests and the environment, with modern, civilized tourism infrastructure and synchronous social infrastructure.

The Prime Minister emphasized the motto "3 yes, 2 no", in which "3 yes" includes benefits for the State (including Vinh Phuc province), benefits for the people, benefits for businesses, harmonious benefits, shared risks; "2 no" means no personal motives, corruption, negativity and no loss or waste of State assets, people's assets, and national resources.

* At noon of the same day, the Prime Minister surveyed the area of ​​Vinh Phuc province where the Vinh Phuc ecological complex urban area is planned to be built, covering an area of ​​over 1,700 hectares, in Yen Lac, Binh Xuyen districts and Vinh Yen city.

The Prime Minister noted that this urban area must be built in a modern, synchronous and harmonious manner with nature, and be an urban highlight of Vinh Phuc province. In particular, along with planning for the construction of residential areas, public works, cultural, tourist and sports spaces must be built; especially, a synchronous and modern infrastructure system must be built, connecting with urban areas in the region, especially connecting with Hanoi.
