General Nguyen Tan Cuong visits, presents gifts, and wishes a happy new year in Ha Nam

On the occasion of preparing for the Lunar New Year of At Ty, on January 22 (December 23), a working delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led by General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, visited, presented gifts and wished a happy new year in Ha Nam. Also accompanying were representatives of the functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and leaders of Military Region 3.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were comrades: Le Thi Thuy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing member of the People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, etc.

Visiting and presenting gifts at Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Center, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Nguyen Tan Cuong kindly inquired about the health and lives of the wounded soldiers being treated at the center. Expressing deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and martyrs' families for the cause of fighting, liberating the nation, and protecting the Fatherland, the General affirmed: The Party and the State always care for, look after, and implement well the policies for wounded soldiers, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. I hope that the wounded soldiers and sick soldiers will continue to uphold the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", strive to overcome difficulties, overcome disabilities, live happily and healthily, worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "wounded soldiers are disabled but not useless".

General Nguyen Tan Cuong also asked the officers and staff of Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Center to uphold their sense of responsibility, take good care of the lives of war invalids and sick soldiers, and better fulfill their assigned tasks.

Visiting, wishing a happy new year, and presenting gifts to the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Ha Nam province; the Party Committee and People's Committee of Duy Tien town, General Nguyen Tan Cuong expressed his joy at the changes in his hometown. The General affirmed: Achieving comprehensive and outstanding results in all fields is thanks to the correct leadership and direction of the Party, the State, the Party Committees and authorities of Ha Nam province, especially the consensus of the people in implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong sincerely thanked the local Party Committee and authorities for their regular attention, care, and building of a strong provincial military force, contributing to the entire Party, people, and army to successfully implement the socio-economic development targets and goals, associated with ensuring national defense and security. General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized: 2025 is an important year with many major events, especially the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, requesting the provincial Party Committee and authorities to continue promoting the achieved results, unite in leadership, direction, promote socio-economic development associated with consolidating national defense and security; pay attention to caring for and building an increasingly strong provincial military force, building a solid provincial defense zone. In the immediate future, ensure all activities to organize for the army and people in the area to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet safely; prepare well the conditions and successfully organize the military handover ceremony in 2025; Do a good job of organizing party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Nam province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thuy sincerely thanked the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, General Nguyen Tan Cuong and the working delegation for their attention. Reporting to the working delegation on the province's highlights in 2024, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that in the coming time, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee will always pay attention to directing the implementation of socio-economic development tasks associated with strengthening national defense and security; implementing well the military rear policy; "Repaying gratitude" activities, contributing to improving and enhancing people's lives. On this occasion, General Nguyen Tan Cuong visited and presented Tet gifts to policy households and poor people in Tien Ngoai ward (Duy Tien town); visited, presented gifts, wished a happy new year, and inspected combat readiness work at Duy Tien town Military Command, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police. General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the Party committees and commanders of provincial armed forces units to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the above directives and resolutions, concretize them closely with the unit's reality; regularly maintain strict combat readiness. Develop a plan for close coordination, absolutely protect the safety of key targets, projects, holidays, Tet, and important political events of the country.

Strengthen coordination among forces, patrol, guard, control, grasp the situation, promptly advise local Party committees and authorities to handle situations well, avoid being passive or surprised, ensure absolute safety in terms of political security, order, and social safety, create conditions for people and military officers and soldiers to celebrate Tet happily, excitedly, safely, and economically.
