Hai Duong Pediatric Hospital offers free screening for precocious puberty in children.

Parents bring children showing signs of precocious puberty to Hai Duong Pediatric Hospital for examination.

From July 8th to the present, Hai Duong Pediatric Hospital has received and screened nearly 30 children with signs of precocious puberty free of charge. Children suspected of having precocious puberty have symptoms such as: abnormally early physical development; body odor, acne, early breast development; voice changes, rapid height increase, changes in psychology and physiology...

Children undergoing examination will receive screening and in-depth consultation; hand bone X-ray; blood hormone tests; and ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries (for girls). The child will be consulted, advised, and treated if indicated. During the screening process, if other medical conditions are detected, the child will be referred for further examination at the hospital's specialized departments.

According to specialists at Hai Duong Pediatric Hospital, the number of children experiencing precocious puberty is on the rise. Precocious puberty is more common in girls, resulting in a height reduction of 10-12 cm compared to their potential and significantly impacting their psychological and emotional well-being. This is an alarming situation for young children.

Cases of precocious puberty are treated with injections to delay puberty, administered once a month until the child reaches the age of 10.

The free screening program for precocious puberty in children is being organized by Hai Duong Pediatric Hospital in collaboration with GIGAMED Pharmaceutical Company Limited. The program will run until July 15th.
