On August 5, 2024, within the framework of his visit and work in Japan, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung worked with the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of ICT and semiconductor industry.
At the meeting, Mr. Kozuki Ryosuki, Deputy Minister of METI of Japan, shared Japan's experience in developing these industries, considering the semiconductor industry as important as the automobile industry. Regarding digital infrastructure development, the two sides discussed and agreed to strengthen cooperation in developing 5G Open-RAN equipment, supporting businesses of the two countries to soon deploy joint research and development projects to supply the markets of the two countries and around the world. Along with the strong development of the cooperative relationship between the two countries, especially after upgrading the relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023, the two sides agreed to promote new cooperation programs and initiatives at many different levels, together unlocking potentials, bringing the Vietnam - Japan cooperative relationship in the field of ICT and semiconductor industry to a new level.
