On the evening of August 12, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà received General Director of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister appreciated Samsung Vietnam's pioneering role in cooperation economic Vietnam - Korea in general and the business community of both countries in particular; as well as the transition to digital economy, green economy in Vietnam.
Mr. Choi Joo Ho reported to the Deputy Prime Minister on some results of Samsung Vietnam's business activities over time.

According to Mr. Choi Joo Ho, Samsung Vietnam wishes to be facilitated to increase the use of electricity from renewable energy for production, at affordable and reasonable costs, contributing to implementing Vietnam's commitment to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by zero (Net Zero) in 2050.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that immediately after the DPPA mechanism was issued, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to urgently review and issue criteria for selecting electricity projects from renewable energy connected to the national power grid to be included in the implementation plan of Power Plan 8, if it ensures system security, transmission capacity, economic efficiency. .
In addition, Vietnam will accompany and encourage enterprises to promote green transition, reduce carbon emissions through the development of regulations on emission limits, carbon credit market, carbon tax policy, green finance, land incentives. .
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that foreign enterprises, including Samsung Vietnam, continue to make practical proposals and suggestions in order to immediately remove the difficulties and obstacles during the implementation of the DPPA mechanism; towards operating the Vietnamese electricity market under a full market mechanism.
The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Electricity Corporation, relevant ministries and departments to continue working with Samsung Viet Nam on the recommendations made during the meeting.
Going forward, the deputy prime minister suggested that Samsung continue to invest in R&D centers and transition into new industries such as semiconductor chips.
