At the conference, comrade Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, authorized by the Politburo, announced the Politburo's decisions.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided that comrade Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; transferred, assigned, and appointed to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.

The Politburo decided that Comrade Do Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Kien Giang province, will cease to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and cease to hold the position of Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; and will be transferred, assigned, and appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

At the conference, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung said that the Politburo and the Secretariat had met and unanimously decided to transfer and assign comrade Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; the Secretariat also agreed to introduce comrade Tran Viet Truong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee to join the Party Delegation and proposed that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front consult and elect him to the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. This is the recognition of the Politburo and the Secretariat for the comrades individually and the collective of the Can Tho City Party Executive Committee.

The Head of the Central Organizing Committee said that, based on practical needs, to ensure the direct, comprehensive, regular and continuous leadership of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat over the Can Tho City Party Committee, the Politburo has highly agreed to assign, mobilize and appoint comrade Do Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.

The Head of the Central Organizing Committee requested comrades in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, leaders at all levels and sectors in the city to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, unity, sharing, support and assistance so that comrade Do Thanh Binh, in his position as Secretary of the City Party Committee, can focus on leading, directing and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, the Resolution of the 14th Can Tho City Party Congress, and continue to develop the locality further in the coming time...

Comrade Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, said he was very honored to be assigned by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. This is an honor but also a great responsibility; to fulfill the assigned tasks, he will continue to make efforts, be determined to strive, uphold the pioneering spirit, be exemplary, open-minded, wholeheartedly serve the Party, serve the people, for the benefit of the Party Committee and the people of the city.

At the same time, together with the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of the City Party Committee and the entire political system, unite and agree to properly implement the Party's policies and resolutions, the State's laws, especially the working regulations of the City Party Committee, promote the collective intelligence to lead the successful implementation of the Resolution 2025, the Resolution of the Can Tho City Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term; successfully organize the City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, continue to effectively implement the Resolution of the Politburo on Building and Developing Can Tho City to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the Resolution of the 15th National Assembly on Piloting a number of specific policies and mechanisms for the development of Can Tho City, building the city into a comprehensive hub and logistics center of the Mekong Delta region...

Comrade Do Thanh Binh was born in 1967, from Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province; has a Master's degree in economics. He is a cadre who has grown up from the grassroots and has held many positions in Kien Giang province such as: Deputy Secretary, Secretary of the District Youth Union; Vice Chairman, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Thuan District Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee; and is a member of the 13th Central Executive Committee.

Comrade Do Thanh Binh is assessed by the Politburo as a capable and experienced cadre with a scientific, democratic, decisive and close-to-the-grassroots mindset and working methods. In all his positions, he has always completed his assigned tasks well and made important contributions to the overall achievements and results of the locality, agency and unit where he works.
