This 128-hectare park, acting as a 'green lung' on the banks of the Saigon River, right next to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, is planned to become the city's third largest park.

| This park project has a total investment of up to VND 6,400 billion and will be implemented from 2024-2030 according to Decision 117/QD-BHTDT on the plan for developing parks and green spaces of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Management Board (Urban Infrastructure Board). |

Located on the banks of the Saigon River, the park is a natural wetland area that receives water from upstream and tidal water from the sea. It was once considered a vast swampy area. Its primary function is environmental protection and drainage, preserving the natural wetland ecosystem right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. |

Running through this area is one of the four main roads of the Thu Thiem urban area. The road is 2.5km long and was built as an elevated bridge. Viewed from above, the road is beautiful and refreshing with lush vegetation surrounding it. The vegetation here is diverse, ranging from trees and vines to shrubs, coconut palms, and reeds. |

The total planned area of the project is 128 hectares. When completed, it will be the third largest park in the city (after Saigon Safari Park, which covers 485 hectares, and District 12 Park, which covers 150 hectares) and 7.5 times larger than the Saigon Zoo. |

According to the plan, the green area will be planted with native tree species that can withstand the urban environment. In addition, an artificial forest will be built here, creating a habitat for wild animals. |

| Currently, the area of parks in Ho Chi Minh City is only over 500 hectares, equivalent to about 0.55 m2/person, much lower than the urban green space standard of 15 m2/person. Therefore, this forest park project not only brings environmental and economic value but also creates an important highlight in Ho Chi Minh City's sustainable development strategy. |
According to the Ministry of Construction 's assessment, although current urban planning standards require a minimum green space area of 4-7 m2/person, the actual rate only partially meets this requirement. In particular, large cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Hai Phong are severely lacking in green space. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City has a public green space ratio of only 0.55 m2/person, Hanoi 2.06 m2/person, Da Nang 2.4 m2/person, and Hai Phong approximately 3.41 m2/person.
