On the world gold market, the closing price of gold in New York on the night of August 13 decreased to 2,464.2 USD/ounce, down 8.7 USD compared to the previous session. The spot gold price on the Kitco floor on the morning of August 14 (Vietnam time) continued to decrease to 2,463.28 USD/ounce. This price after conversion is equivalent to 75.3 million VND/tael, 4.7 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold and about 2.6 million VND/tael lower than 9999 ring gold.
World gold prices turned down due to quick profit-taking by investors, despite the decline in the USD exchange rate and US Treasury bond yields. Investors are cautious about the possibility of major fluctuations in gold prices when the US releases an important inflation report on Wednesday (local time).
