While global gold prices reversed course and fell, domestic gold prices remained high on the morning of August 14th.

At around 9:30 AM on August 14th, SJC, PNJ, and Doji Group were still listing SJC gold at 78 million VND/ounce for buying and 80 million VND/ounce for selling, unchanged from yesterday.
The selling price of SJC gold at the four state-owned commercial banks (BIDV, Agribank , Vietinbank, and Vietcombank) this morning also remained at 80 million VND per tael.
9999 gold rings remained unchanged this morning. SJC Company listed the price at 76.6 million VND/ounce for buying and 77.9 million VND/ounce for selling. Hung Thinh Vuong Group, a 9999 gold ring trading company, listed the price at 76.65 million VND/ounce for buying and 77.9 million VND/ounce for selling.
On the global gold market, the price of gold closed in New York on the night of August 13th at $2,464.2 per ounce, down $8.7 from the previous session. The spot gold price on the Kitco exchange on the morning of August 14th (Vietnam time) continued to fall to $2,463.28 per ounce. This price, after conversion, is equivalent to approximately 75.3 million VND per tael, which is 4.7 million VND per tael lower than SJC gold and about 2.6 million VND per tael lower than 9999 gold rings.
Global gold prices reversed course and fell due to quick profit-taking by investors, despite a decline in the US dollar exchange rate and US Treasury bond yields. Investors are cautious about the possibility of significant gold price volatility when the US releases a key inflation report on Wednesday (local time).
