The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max duo are expected to launch with an upgraded Tetraprism camera system with a resolution of 48MP. This will be the first time the entire rear camera cluster on an iPhone is equipped with 48MP lenses, marking a major step forward in mobile photography technology.

According to Weibo Digital Chat Station account, iPhone 17 Pro will be equipped with a camera cluster including a 48MP Fusion lens with a 1/1.3 inch sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an upgraded 48MP Tetraprism telephoto lens.
This leaker also said that both the main camera and the telephoto camera will likely use a combination of glass and plastic lenses. At the same time, the front camera of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max duo will be upgraded to 24MP resolution.
The prediction is also in line with a previous report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature an upgraded 48MP Tetraprism lens to improve image quality and zoom capabilities.
Kuo isn’t sure if it’s just the iPhone 17 Pro Max or if other models will get the upgrade, but according to a recent leak, both Pro models will get the upgrade.
This leak also backs up analyst Jeff Pu's earlier claim that all four iPhone 17 models will feature a 24MP front camera. For comparison, all current iPhone 16 models only have 12MP front cameras.
The iPhone 17 generation is expected to be launched by Apple in September this year with four versions. The "bitten apple" is also rumored to eliminate the "Plus" version and replace it with an ultra-thin model, tentatively called the "iPhone 17 Air", which promises to create a breakthrough in design.
