The program was attended by nearly 150 overseas Vietnamese, representatives of the Denmark-Vietnam Friendship Association and many Danish friends who love Vietnam.
Welcoming overseas Vietnamese from all over Denmark to gather in Copenhagen, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi expressed his joy and emotion at the affection and solidarity of the Vietnamese community in Denmark in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Ambassador shared that Tet is an occasion for all Vietnamese people to reunite, to turn to their roots, family and homeland, to the sacred values of national traditions no matter where they go or what they do.
Sharing about the country's situation in 2024, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi happily announced that despite many difficulties and challenges, the country was heavily affected by natural disasters, especially super typhoon Yagi, but the people of the whole country and our compatriots abroad have made efforts and joined hands to help the economy recover strongly, achieving many positive results.

Economic growth rate in 2024 exceeds forecast, reaching over 7%, among the few countries with high growth in the region and the world. Macroeconomic stability continues, total import-export turnover reaches over 786 billion USD. FDI attraction reaches over 38.2 billion USD, among the 15 developing countries attracting the largest FDI in the world.
In terms of foreign affairs, up to now, Vietnam has established comprehensive strategic partnerships with 9 countries, 19 strategic partners, 13 comprehensive partners, and the country's international position and prestige are increasingly enhanced.
In the coming time, Vietnam will continue to implement three strategic breakthroughs, including institutions, infrastructure and human resources. The country is carrying out a revolution in streamlining the apparatus; determined to make breakthroughs in developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, towards a new era, an era of national development, bringing the country to develop richly, civilizedly and prosperously.
The Vietnam-Denmark relationship is increasingly strengthened and deepened, bringing practical and specific benefits to each country and both sides are looking towards the next steps of development in the coming time.
Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi emphasized that the results achieved, in addition to the efforts and determination of the people in the country, also have valuable contributions from the Vietnamese community abroad; affirming that the Party and State always pay attention to, highly appreciate and acknowledge the practical, specific and effective contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad, including the Vietnamese community in Denmark, in the cause of national construction and development.

Representing overseas Vietnamese attending, Mr. Tran Huong Lien, who has lived in Denmark for more than 40 years, said that overseas Vietnamese were very happy and excited about the achievements of the country and the Vietnam-Denmark relationship in recent times. He also expressed his gratitude for the State's attention to the community and the aspiration to build a strong Vietnamese community in Denmark, making practical contributions to the country.
On behalf of the Association of Vietnamese Experts and Intellectuals in Denmark, Ms. Le Thi Khanh Chi, a Vietnamese language teacher, expressed her gratitude to the Embassy for creating conditions and supporting the opening of Vietnamese language classes for Vietnamese children right at the Embassy headquarters from May 2024 and for a teacher to attend a Vietnamese language teaching training course in Hanoi.

Ms. Khanh Chi affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Denmark, although far from their homeland, still makes every effort to maintain their national culture, including the Vietnamese language. The Association of Vietnamese Experts and Intellectuals will continue to have specific and practical activities, contributing to building community solidarity and looking towards their homeland and country.
Participating in the Spring Homeland At Ty program, overseas Vietnamese and Danish friends had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Tet dishes such as banh chung, nem ran, gio cha... enjoy and participate in many special performances such as solo performances of the zither, pipa, and sing songs about the homeland and country, demonstrating the artistic talent and beauty of the soul, and the attachment to the homeland of the Vietnamese community in Denmark.

Sending New Year greetings to overseas Vietnamese in 2025, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi expressed his wish that they continue to maintain solidarity, unity, mutual love and affection, become increasingly successful in life and always look towards their homeland and country, as well as preserve the identity and introduce Vietnamese culture to Denmark, become a bridge of friendship and make positive contributions to the relationship between the two countries.
