In the 2023-2024 season, Viettel Sports Club shared the Hang Day Stadium with two other teams: Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police FC. However, as Thanh Nien newspaper has reported numerous times, in late October 2023, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) received a written request from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), stating that a stadium could only be used by a maximum of two teams. Violations would result in the revocation of the Asian Cup qualification spots for member federations. Following this AFC announcement, one team was forced to leave Hang Day Stadium.
Initially, all three teams wanted to continue playing at Hang Day Stadium. However, on July 19th, Hanoi City officially issued a document announcing that The Cong Viettel Club would have to leave Hang Day Stadium and would not be allowed to register it as their home stadium for the 2024-2025 season.
Leaving Hang Day Stadium, The Cong Viettel Club was forced to find a new home ground. Within Hanoi, My Dinh, Ha Dong, and Thanh Tri stadiums were considered by The Cong Viettel Club. After a period of consideration, the military team chose My Dinh as their home stadium for the 2024-2025 season.

Viettel Sports Club had to leave Hang Day Stadium due to AFC regulations.
The decision by The Cong Viettel Club is considered reasonable. In Hanoi, this is the only stadium that meets all the requirements from the AFC.
With the remaining two stadiums, Viettel Sports Club is unlikely to be able to use them due to their significant deterioration. The Ha Dong stadium is considered the most suitable for Viettel Sports Club, but it does not meet the requirements for playing in the V-League. This stadium only has a capacity of about 3,000 seats and lacks floodlights.

The Thể Công Viettel club will compete at Mỹ Đình Stadium in the 2024-2025 season.
Moving to My Dinh Stadium to play would be very costly for The Cong Viettel Club. The My Dinh National Sports Complex is a revenue-generating public service unit, tasked by the sports sector with operating as a financially independent enterprise. To fund its operations, pay salaries to staff, maintain the complex's facilities (including the Aquatic Sports Palace and My Dinh Stadium), and pay taxes, the complex charges rental fees for the stadium, no less than 700-800 million VND per international match. For domestic football matches, the lowest fee is around 150-200 million VND.
Throughout the 2024-2025 season, Viettel Sports Club could play 17 home matches: 13 V-League matches and up to 4 National Cup matches. Therefore, the estimated minimum cost for stadium rentals that Viettel Sports Club will have to spend is enormous.
