On September 6, 2023, the 30th
World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania took place in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of hundreds of leading tourism and travel brands from across the continent and domestic and international news agencies. Vietnam's tourism industry was honored to be recognized in 54 top award categories in Asia in 2023. This was the third time Vietnam was chosen to host the World Travel Awards, with the ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City for two consecutive years.
At the awards ceremony, the organizers announced the awards for
tourism brands in the Asia and Oceania region. At the national level, Vietnam was honored with the “Asia’s Leading Destination 2023” and “Asia’s Leading Nature Destination 2023” awards. The Vietnam National Tourism Administration excellently achieved the title of “Asia’s Leading Tourism Management Agency 2023”. Regarding localities, this year Ho Chi Minh City won the “Asia’s Leading Business Tourism Destination 2023” and “Asia’s Leading Festival and Events Destination 2023” awards.

To achieve this, the city has offered visitors many exciting experiences, encouraging repeat visits and explorations. the "Happy Vietnam" photo and video contest will continue to be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on the website.

The competition aims to honor individuals and groups with positive informational products that make practical contributions to promoting a beautiful image of Vietnam to the world. Through this, it helps people at home, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends access authentic images of Vietnam, its people, its achievements in ensuring human rights, and working towards a happy Vietnam. Each competition category (photos and videos) has the following prizes and prize values: – 1 Gold Medal: 70,000,000 VND – 2 Silver Medals: 20,000,000 VND – 3 Bronze Medals: 10,000,000 VND – 10 Consolation Prizes: 5,000,000 VND – 1 Most Voted entry: 5,000,000 VND.
