With the view of not leaving anyone behind, Thai Nguyen province directed the review in the area to be thorough, not to miss any families living in temporary or dilapidated houses that are not supported to build new or repair. Through the review, statistics show that the whole province has 1,838 poor and near-poor households living in temporary or dilapidated houses that need support to build new or repair.

Although the need for new construction and house repair is not small; difficulties, obstacles, and obstacles in terms of terrain, conditions, resources, land procedures, not being old enough to build a house, or having a relative who has just passed away, and not having economic conditions, affect the progress of temporary house demolition in the area.

To overcome these problems, specialized agencies have proactively guided and supported the completion of dossiers for granting Land Use Right Certificates, ensuring that eligible households are supported to build new houses and repair houses in accordance with regulations; mobilizing and persuading households to overcome their customs; mobilizing sufficient resources with a total amount of more than 194 billion VND; determination, high responsibility, drastic and close direction of key provincial leaders, Party committees and authorities; and the political system taking action.

The entire political system got involved, so Thai Nguyen province finished removing temporary houses, in accordance with architectural traditions, ahead of schedule.

The province directed the urgent removal of temporary and dilapidated houses, ensuring "three hard" things, including hard foundations, walls and roofs, so that households can have conditions to stabilize their lives for a long time and feel secure in "settling down and making a living". Up to now, the whole province has completed the program of removing temporary and dilapidated houses for 1,838 households, including building 1,221 new houses; repairing 617 houses, completed 15 days ahead of the target of the Provincial Steering Committee and 8 months ahead of the direction of the Prime Minister.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, said that from the beginning, members of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, districts, cities, communes, wards and towns have done a good job of inspecting, supervising and urging the implementation of support policies according to regulations, avoiding duplication of subjects, transparency, not allowing exploitation, profiteering, negativity and waste; all newly built and repaired houses are of guaranteed quality.

To achieve that result, Thai Nguyen province soon established a Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, with the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee as the Head of the Committee; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee; the Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as the Deputy Heads of the Committee; members are heads of departments, branches and sectors. Similarly, the district and commune levels also established a Steering Committee, issued operating regulations, assigned specific tasks to each member and organized a campaign for the whole society to join hands in eliminating temporary houses in the area.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Thai Nguyen province happily shared: Today, Thai Nguyen province reported to the superiors and informed the people that the whole province has eliminated all temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

The leadership and direction of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Thai Nguyen province has been deployed and implemented synchronously and resolutely, demonstrating a sense of responsibility from the province to the commune level; key leaders of the province and districts regularly give close direction, inspect the situation, and promptly remove difficulties; the spirit of "mutual love and support", "the rich help the poor", and socialized resources have been strongly promoted; households actively eliminate temporary houses to soon stabilize their lives.

The Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee said that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses has raised the confidence of poor and near-poor households whose temporary and dilapidated houses have been eliminated, thereby gradually eliminating the mentality of being content with their lot, adding more strength and will, creating a foundation for households to rise up to reduce poverty and eliminate poverty. At the same time, he suggested that after the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, households need to promote production development; all levels, sectors and localities should review and classify poor and near-poor households with people of working age and in good health to organize vocational training and introduce suitable jobs to create livelihoods to escape poverty sustainably and permanently.
