At the same time, he has skillfully utilized investment capital from national target programs and provincial support to develop the economy and increase income.
To further enhance the role of influential individuals in Son La province, Party committees and local authorities should focus on effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws regarding these individuals. At the same time, they should pay attention to and care for their material and spiritual well-being, provide information, and create favorable conditions for these influential individuals to operate effectively and serve as a bridge between the Party, the government, and the people.

Mr. San's family currently owns 3 hectares of longan and mango orchards and raises livestock and poultry, yielding an annual income of 200-300 million VND. With his economic stability and his caring, sharing, and helpful nature towards his fellow villagers, many in Boong Xanh trust and are grateful to Mr. San. For Mr. San, the work of disseminating information and mobilizing the people is much easier because he speaks, and they trust him; he acts, and they follow him.
In Cay Khe village, Hua Nhan commune, Bac Yen district, as a respected community leader, Mr. Hang A Mua has actively encouraged villagers to expand the cultivation of sugarcane, strawberries, and plums. To build trust, he led the way, supporting several households to follow suit, thereby gradually changing the production habits of a segment of the village's population. In the recent strawberry harvest alone, Mr. Mua's family earned nearly 300 million VND.
Having successfully restructured his crop cultivation and possessing favorable economic conditions, Mr. Mua provided guidance on planting, caring for, and fertilizing crops, supported households in the village with strawberry seedlings, and guaranteed the purchase of their produce. Thanks to following Mr. Mua's example, the people of Cay Khe village have basically learned to grow sugarcane, strawberries, and plums. Currently, the village has nearly 50 hectares of sugarcane, 30 hectares of strawberries, and 20 hectares of plums, with many households earning hundreds of millions of dong per year from sugarcane and strawberries.
In Pat village, Muong Chum commune, Muong La district, the first impression for many visitors is the well-built village gate, and the clean, paved internal village roads and alleyways. This achievement is thanks to the contributions of the respected community leader Lo Van Tien.
During the exchange, Mr. Lo Van Tien shared: From 2020 to 2023, implementing the program to build new rural villages and model new rural villages, I, together with the Party Committee and the Village Management Board, propagated and mobilized the people to donate 1,200m² of land; contributed nearly 460 million VND and over 1,600 man-days of labor to pour concrete for 2km of internal village roads and alleyways; mobilized the people to build 90 incinerators and install lighting systems in the alleyways... The total value mobilized from the people was 969 million VND. In 2023, Pat village achieved the status of a model new rural village.
Contributing to the effective implementation of National Target Program 1719
Setting a good example in the community, directly disseminating information and mobilizing the people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and local regulations... These are the regular activities of influential figures among ethnic minorities in Son La province. This contributes significantly to the effective implementation of Content No. 1, Sub-project 1 on "Building, improving the quality and effectiveness of mobilization work, and promoting the role of key personnel and influential figures in ethnic minority and mountainous areas" under Project 10, National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas giai đoạn 2021 - 2030 (National Target Program 1719).
Currently, Son La province has 2,188 influential figures among ethnic minority communities. Through practical and concrete actions, these influential figures have become key exemplary leaders in promoting unity, economic development, and preserving and developing the beautiful cultural identity of their ethnic groups. They also play a crucial role in Party building and the construction of the political system. They participate in resolving many issues arising at the grassroots level, maintaining security and order, and fostering unity and solidarity among ethnic groups. Many influential figures have made significant contributions to the inspection and supervision of infrastructure projects and production support projects, contributing to the success of the National Target Program 1719 at the grassroots level.
According to Mr. Luong Van Toan, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of Son La province, in 2024, Son La province was allocated nearly 6.7 billion VND to implement policies for influential figures among ethnic minorities. Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee, in coordination with relevant departments, agencies, districts, and cities, has organized four conferences to provide information, disseminate laws, and educate 238 branch secretaries, deputy branch secretaries, village heads, and influential figures among ethnic minorities. In addition, with support from the National Target Program 1719, the locality has organized information conferences for 100% of influential figures in the area; and organized visits and gift-giving to 29 influential figures among ethnic minorities.
