Exemplary and pioneering "nuclei"

In Chieng Pan commune, Yen Chau district, for the past 11 years, Mr. Lo Van San, a prestigious person in Boong Xanh village, has always encouraged his children and villagers to implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws. At the same time, he knows how to take advantage of investment capital from national target programs and the province's support to develop the economy and increase income.

To continue promoting the role of Prestigious People in Son La province, Party committees and local authorities focus on implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on Prestigious People. At the same time, they pay attention to and care for the material and spiritual life of Prestigious People, provide information, and create conditions for Prestigious People to operate effectively, acting as a bridge between the Party, the government and the people.

Mr. San's family currently has 3 hectares of longan and mango and raises livestock and poultry, which yield an annual harvest of 200-300 million VND. With good economic conditions, caring, sharing, and helping people, many people in Boong Xanh trust and are grateful to Mr. San. For Mr. San, the work of propagating and mobilizing the people is very favorable, because when he speaks, the people believe and when he does, the people follow.

In Cay Khe village, Hua Nhan commune, Bac Yen district, as a prestigious person, Mr. Hang A Mua actively encouraged people to develop sugarcane, strawberry and plum growing areas. To gain trust, he implemented it first, supported some households to follow suit, and gradually changed the production habits of a part of the people in the village. In the last strawberry crop alone, Mr. Mua's family earned nearly 300 million VND.

Having succeeded in converting the crop structure, with economic conditions, Mr. Mua has guided the techniques of planting, caring, fertilizing, supporting households in the village with strawberry seedlings and purchasing the products. Thanks to following Mr. Mua, the people of Cay Khe village basically know how to grow sugarcane, strawberries and plums. Currently, the village has nearly 50 hectares of sugarcane; 30 hectares of strawberries, 20 hectares of plums, many households have an income of hundreds of millions of VND/year from sugarcane and strawberries.

In Pat village, Muong Chum commune, Muong La district, the first impression for many people when coming here is the village's welcome gate which was built spaciously, the internal roads and alleys were paved with asphalt and poured with clean concrete. That result, there is the contribution of the prestigious person Lo Van Tien.

Through the discussion, Mr. Lo Van Tien shared: From 2020 to 2023, implementing the program of building new rural villages and model new rural areas, I, together with the Party Committee and the Village Management Board, propagated and mobilized people to donate 1,200m2 of land; contributed nearly 460 million VND and over 1,600 working days of pouring concrete for 2km of internal village roads and alley roads; mobilized people to build 90 incinerators, make lighting systems for alleys... The total value mobilized from the people is 969 million VND. In 2023, Pat village will achieve model new rural area status.

Contribute to the effective implementation of National Target Program 1719

Being a role model in the community, directly propagating and mobilizing people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and local regulations... These are regular activities of prestigious people in ethnic minorities in Son La province. From there, it contributes significantly to the effective implementation of Content No. 1, Sub-project 1 on "Building, improving the quality and effectiveness of mobilization work, promoting the role of core forces and prestigious people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas" under Project 10, National target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2030 (National target program 1719).

Son La province currently has 2,188 Prestigious People among ethnic minorities. Through practical and specific actions, Prestigious People have become "nuclei" of solidarity, role models, and pioneers in economic development, preserving and promoting the fine cultural identities of ethnic groups. At the same time, they play an important role in Party building and political system building. They participate in resolving many incidents arising at the grassroots level, maintaining security and order; creating solidarity and cohesion among ethnic groups. Many Prestigious People have made important contributions to the inspection and supervision of infrastructure works and production support projects, contributing to the success of the National Target Program 1719 at the grassroots level.

According to Mr. Luong Van Toan, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Son La province, in 2024, Son La province was assigned nearly 6.7 billion VND to implement policies for Prestigious People among ethnic minorities. Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee has coordinated with departments, branches, districts and cities to organize 4 conferences to provide information, propagate and disseminate laws to 238 secretaries, deputy secretaries of Party cells; heads, deputy heads of villages and Prestigious People among ethnic minorities. Along with that, from the support source of the National Target Program 1719, the locality has organized conferences to provide information to 100% of Prestigious People in the area; organized visits and presented gifts to 29 Prestigious People among ethnic minorities.
