Samsung's trade-in program, called "Galaxy Easy Reward" and running in South Korea, allows customers to sell their old Galaxy phones at any time without requiring them to buy a new device.
Samsung launches old phone buyback program |
The program applies to a range of Samsung Galaxy phones, from the Galaxy S20 to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. However, the latest models such as the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are not yet supported.
Users simply visit “Galaxy Easy Compensation” on Samsung.com to check the estimated value of their device based on its model and condition, register for the program, and follow the instructions to send their device via express delivery service.
After receiving the device, Samsung will thoroughly inspect it and determine the final price. The phone will be classified into 3 levels: “Excellent”, “Good” (can be resold) and “Recycle” (can be disassembled for components).
According to Jung Ho-jin, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy Easy Reward program aims to add long-term value to Galaxy products while contributing to the promotion of a circular economy.
It is expected that after launching in the Korean market, the Galaxy Easy Reward program will be deployed by Samsung in many other countries in the near future.
