On August 2nd, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision appointing Mr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to the position of Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for a term of 5 years.
Mr. Dao Thanh Truong, 44 years old, from Hai Phong , earned his PhD in Sociology in 2010. He was appointed Associate Professor of Sociology in 2016.
He is an expert in the fields of policy research and analysis; science, technology, and innovation management.
For his contributions to training and developing human resources in science and technology management, and to building and developing postgraduate training programs in science and technology management in Vietnam, Mr. Truong received the "For the Cause of Science and Technology" commemorative medal from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017 and a commendation from the Prime Minister in 2020.
He has held many important leadership and management positions such as: Head of the Department of Science and Technology Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science, Director of the Institute of Policy and Management (Key Research Center of Hanoi National University); Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities...
Currently, the Director of Hanoi National University is Professor Dr. Le Quan. The four Vice Directors are Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Bao Son, and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hieu.
