In accordance with the 2024 plan of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) and the direction of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam, Le Manh Hung, regarding the enhancement of the role of internal control, internal audit, and risk management, Petrovietnam recently organized a professional workshop on control work in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa province.
The workshop serves as a forum for staff involved in internal control, internal audit, and risk management to discuss, exchange, and share lessons learned and contribute ideas on issues related to their responsibilities, thereby proposing solutions to improve and enhance the effectiveness of the control system in particular and corporate governance in general.
Attending the workshop were members of the Board of Directors: Nguyen Van Mau; Bui Minh Tien; and Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam Duong Manh Son. Also present were representatives from the Group's Departments/Offices and leaders and representatives of Petrovietnam responsible for internal control, and heads of internal control/internal audit/risk management departments of the Group's member units.

Overview of the Conference
At the workshop, Petrovietnam's specialized departments presented reports on the performance of their duties and responsibilities, and the role of representatives in internal control work in improving the internal control system at member units; risks in managing construction investment projects; an overview of the Regulations on the Management of Outgoing Investment Capital and Inspection and Supervision of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, and key contents/new points to note.

A representative from PVFCCo presented a paper at the workshop.
Also at the seminar, Mr. Bui Minh Tien - Member of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam - gave a presentation on the role of the Internal Control System in Governance and Implementation of ESG (the three key elements in business management: Environment, Society, and Governance). According to Mr. Tien, understanding and applying the key elements of ESG not only helps businesses promote sustainable development and social responsibility but also creates long-term benefits through enhanced business value, effective risk management, and building trust from stakeholders.
The workshop focused on discussing and exchanging ideas on key topics including: internal control systems and risk management; the role of internal control personnel in building and improving internal control and risk management systems in enterprises; new trends affecting business operations and financial information of enterprises; the implementation of Regulation 8346/QD-DKVN dated December 14, 2024; and difficulties in performing the duties and responsibilities of representatives working in internal control according to current regulations.

During the workshop's program, delegates visited officers and soldiers of the 4th Naval Region Command and units at Cam Ranh Base. This meaningful activity aimed to enhance the understanding of Petrovietnam's staff and member units about the glorious traditions, history of building, maturing, and developing the Vietnam People's Navy as well as the 4th Naval Region.
