Implementing the 2024 plan of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and the direction of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Le Manh Hung in enhancing the role of internal control, audit and risk management, recently, in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa province, Petrovietnam organized a professional workshop on control work in 2024.
The workshop is a forum for staff working in control, internal audit and risk management to discuss, exchange, share lessons learned and contribute ideas on issues related to their tasks, thereby proposing solutions to improve and enhance the effectiveness of the control system in particular and corporate governance in general.
Attending the Workshop were members of the Board of Directors: Nguyen Van Mau; Bui Minh Tien; and Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam Duong Manh Son. Also attending were representatives of the Group's Departments/Offices and leaders, representatives of Petrovietnam working in control, Heads of Internal Control/Internal Audit/Risk Management of member units of the Group.
Overview of the Workshop
At the Workshop, Petrovietnam's professional committees presented reports on the implementation of duties, tasks and roles of representatives in charge of control in perfecting the internal control system at member units; Risks in construction investment project management; Overview of the Regulations on Management of External Investment Capital and Inspection and Supervision of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, main contents/new points to note.

Also at the Workshop, Mr. Bui Minh Tien - Member of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam gave a presentation on the Role of the Internal Control System in ESG Governance and Implementation (The 3 important factors in business management: Environment, Society and Governance). According to Mr. Tien, understanding and applying the key factors of ESG not only helps businesses promote sustainable development and social responsibility but also creates long-term benefits through enhancing business value, effectively managing risks and building trust from stakeholders.
The workshop focused on discussing and exchanging on the main contents including: Internal control system, risk management; the role of the controller in building and perfecting the internal control system and risk management in the enterprise; New trends affecting the production and business activities and financial information of the Enterprise; the implementation of Regulation 8346/QD-DKVN dated December 14, 2024; difficulties in performing the duties and tasks of the Representative performing the control work according to current regulations.

In the Workshop's Working Program, delegates visited officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 4 Command and units in Cam Ranh Base. This meaningful activity aims to enhance the understanding of Petrovietnam officers and member units about the glorious tradition, history of construction, growth and development of the Vietnam People's Navy as well as of Naval Region 4.
