According to National Assembly Secretary General Bui Van Cuong, this afternoon (August 13), the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and decide on the removal of Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh, a National Assembly representative from the Ha Giang Provincial Delegation, and Mr. Chau Van Lam, a National Assembly representative from the Tuyen Quang Provincial Delegation, from their duties as National Assembly deputies of the 15th term.

Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly, and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent authorities; based on the Submission of the Committee on Delegate Affairs; considering the resignation requests of Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh and Mr. Chau Van Lam dated August 6, 2024, from their positions as National Assembly deputies, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly discussed, voted secretly, and issued Resolution No. 1139.
Recently, the Prime Minister decided to assign Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, to oversee the operations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment from August 10th until the competent authority fills the position of Minister.
At the recent meeting of the Standing Committee of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Le Thi Kim Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, was assigned to oversee the work of the Provincial Party Committee.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly relieved Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh, a member of the National Assembly delegation from Ha Giang province, constituency No. 1 (comprising Ha Giang city and the districts of Bac Me, Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Meo Vac), and Mr. Chau Van Lam, a member of the National Assembly delegation from Tuyen Quang province, constituency No. 1 (comprising the districts of Na Hang, Lam Binh, and Chiem Hoa), of their duties as National Assembly deputies of the 15th term.
Previously, on August 3rd, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam held a meeting on personnel matters within its authority and agreed to relieve Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh and Mr. Chau Van Lam from their positions as members of the 13th Central Committee.
Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh was born on September 2, 1976, in Ha Tinh province. In July 2019, he served as Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, and was subsequently approved by the National Assembly to be appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Environment on May 22, 2023.
Mr. Chau Van Lam was born on April 16, 1967, in Tuyen Quang province. In March 2015, Mr. Lam was elected Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee and has held this position ever since.
