Dear Comrade Trinh Viet Hung - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen Province,
Dear former members of the Central Committee of the Party, former leaders of ministries, departments and agencies of the Central Government,
Distinguished leaders of Ministries, Departments, Branches, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Thai Nguyen province,
Distinguished delegates, honored guests, relatives of lecturers and students of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism, ladies and gentlemen, and the people of Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province!
Today, amidst the historic autumn days of August, as the entire Party, people, and army commemorate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), I, along with the leaders of the Central Committees, Ministries, branches, and organizations, and the province of Thai Nguyen, am very pleased to attend the Inauguration and Handover Ceremony of the renovated and restored National Monument of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism, which marks the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
With great joy and excitement at attending this event, I sincerely extend my warmest regards and best wishes to all delegates, distinguished guests, veteran revolutionaries, and the entire community.
Distinguished delegates, comrades, and citizens!
As a distinguished journalist and the founder of Vietnam's revolutionary press, President Ho Chi Minh always paid deep attention to harnessing the immense and sharp power of journalism, building and training a team of journalists to make effective contributions to the Party's revolutionary cause.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, delivered a speech.
Driven by that concern, 75 years ago, in 1949, in the Viet Bac War Zone, President Ho Chi Minh directed the establishment of a journalism school, naming it after Mr. Huynh Thuc Khang – a patriotic intellectual whom he greatly respected for his "extensive learning, unwavering determination, and high moral character," and also a leading figure and exemplary figure in the patriotic journalism movement, the founder of the newspaper Tieng Dan (Voice of the People) in 1927 to educate and encourage patriotism and call for unity in serving the Fatherland.
The establishment of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism marked a significant milestone in the history of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam. From that humble school, the first generation of journalists contributed to shaping the qualities, character, and abilities of many renowned journalists who made immense contributions to the resistance war and national reunification, becoming valuable building blocks that solidified the foundation of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
Given its significant historical importance, on April 4, 2019, the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism site was awarded the Certificate of National Monument Recognition by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirming the Party and State's concern for preserving and promoting heritage values that reflect the formation and development of the country's journalism.
Distinguished delegates, comrades, and citizens!
I highly appreciate the cooperation between the Vietnam Journalists Association and Thai Nguyen province in restoring and preserving the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School National Monument. The project, inaugurated today, profoundly reflects the sense of responsibility, pride, and gratitude for the contributions of previous generations who dedicated themselves to the revolutionary cause of the Party, to the nation's aspirations for independence and freedom, and to the happiness of the people; it also honors the glorious tradition, noble mission, and immense contributions of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism in the struggle for national independence, national reunification, national construction and defense, and the implementation of reforms and international integration.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, and Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and other delegates pose for a commemorative photo.
This is also an opportunity for us to review the glorious revolutionary traditions of our nation, the glorious history of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, to gain a deeper understanding and contribute more responsibly in promoting the healthy development of journalism and media, promptly meeting the requirements of the new era with many new difficulties and challenges.
More than ever, the role of the press agencies and journalists as the frontline force in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and as a "bridge" between the Party, the government, and the people, requires them to constantly hone their qualities, capabilities, courage, and professional ethics to better disseminate the Party and State's viewpoints, policies, and guidelines; to shape public opinion; to objectively, vividly, and comprehensively reflect real life; to inspire and spread positive values; to resolutely criticize and combat negativity; and to make a worthy contribution to achieving national and local development goals, and building a clean and strong Party and political system.
Distinguished delegates, comrades, and citizens!
Thai Nguyen is honored and proud to be home to many historical and cultural relics, the birthplace of many movements fighting against French colonialism, most notably the Thai Nguyen Uprising of 1917. The glorious history of the provincial Party Committee has been forged and passed down through many generations, further enhancing the traditions and spirit of the land and people of Thai Nguyen.
I believe that, along with many other recognized national historical sites such as the ATK Dinh Hoa Special National Historical Site; the Khuon Manh Forest Site - where the Second National Salvation Army was founded; the Site where the Youth Volunteer Team was established; the 27/7 Historical Site - where President Ho Chi Minh's letter on designating July 27th as the Day of War Invalids was announced; the Memorial Site commemorating the heroic sacrifice of 60 Youth Volunteers of Company 915, Team 91 Bac Thai..., the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School National Historical Site will add another "red address" on the proud revolutionary heritage path in what was once the "capital of resistance," enriching the network of historical and cultural sites and scenic spots of the Viet Bac War Zone.
On this occasion, I propose that the provincial authorities, after receiving the handover of the Monument, closely and regularly coordinate with the Vietnam Journalists Association to implement useful activities, effectively exploiting and utilizing the functions of the restored and renovated items to continue preserving, conserving, and promoting the sustainable value of a national monument of sacred significance, a place connecting the history, present, and future of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism, meeting the needs of the people for research, learning, visiting, and "back to the roots" tourism.
I also hope that, following this opening event in a series of activities leading up to the 100th anniversary of the birth and development of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), all levels and sectors at the central and provincial levels in Thai Nguyen will continue to implement practical programs and plans to appropriately honor the glorious traditions, achievements, and great contributions of journalism throughout the revolutionary cause; to encourage, motivate, and express gratitude to outstanding journalists and media agencies with excellent achievements; to foster pride in their professional mission and love for their profession among journalists today, contributing to building a "professional, humane, and modern" press and media in accordance with the spirit of the Party's 13th National Congress Resolution.
I wish all delegates, comrades, and fellow citizens good health, happiness, and success. Thank you very much!
