As part of the Vietnam Student Sports Tournament (VUG), the VUG Running Tournament in Tho Chau island commune was organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association with the participation of all 200 members of the Journey delegation and a number of officers, soldiers and people on the island.

A large number of athletes gathered at the starting point, creating a bustling atmosphere along the coast from early morning.

This sports activity was carried out by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, to express the desire to join hands with cadres, soldiers and people of Tho Chau island commune to maintain the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, and increasingly bring the outpost islands closer to the mainland.

Participating in the special VUG Running Race on Tho Chau Island, many delegates said that this was a "unique" sports experience, because it not only contributed to improving the health of officers, soldiers and delegates, but also had an important meaning in affirming and protecting the sovereignty of Vietnam.

Taking strides within the framework of VUG Running 2024, the athletes contributed to affirming and protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland.

For that reason, all delegates competed with a positive and enthusiastic spirit.

Being present in the Journey in general and the Run in particular, singer "Cooking for you" Nguyen Hoang Huong Linh (stage name PiaLinh) said that she was extremely proud to be a part of the meaningful physical training activity with the army and people of Tho Chau.

Many officers and soldiers from Tho Chau island commune also participated in VUG Running 2024.

According to Lam Tung, Director of the Center for Support and Development of Vietnamese Students, Deputy Head of the "Students with the Sea and Islands of the Fatherland" Journey in 2024, the running activity on Tho Chau Island of the Journey delegates has also officially launched the VUG Running Race in 2024.

Athletes can register to compete from today, August 10. The tournament will last until September 10.
