At the conference, Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Agency - said that in the face of challenges from the US's reciprocal tax policy on Vietnamese goods, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has proactively organized many conferences to consult experts and associations to find appropriate solutions. Vietnamese trade offices abroad have updated the market situation, analyzed the impact of changes in tax and technical policies and provided early warnings to businesses.

Representatives of key industry associations such as textiles, wood and forestry products, electronics, supporting industries, and seafood pointed out difficulties in taxes, technical standards, logistics costs, and trade defense measures; and proposed recommendations to improve the effectiveness of trade promotion and promote the role of the Vietnamese trade office system.
According to Mr. Do Ngoc Hung, Commercial Counselor, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in the United States, Vietnam - US trade is facing tariff challenges but opportunities are still wide open. Major US retail groups such as Walmart, Target, Costco, HomeDepot are still optimistic and believe that Vietnam will reach an agreement with the United States. In particular, many US businesses are considering attending the event "Connecting the international supply chain - Vietnam International Sourcing & Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum 2025" in September 2025, opening up great opportunities to promote bilateral trade cooperation.
Mr. Do Ngoc Hung also emphasized strategic solutions such as: strengthening cooperation from industry, trade, investment to energy, artificial intelligence; diversifying markets through new generation FTAs; stimulating domestic consumption; improving competitiveness of supporting industries; modernizing production technology; at the same time promoting innovation, simplifying business procedures and developing infrastructure.

Sharing about the Canadian market, Ms. Tran Thu Quynh, Trade Counselor in Canada, said that Vietnam's exports to Canada continue to grow well and have not been greatly affected by the tariff war. It is expected that the total export turnover in 2025 will remain stable and aim for the target of 10 billion USD.
Ms. Tran Thu Quynh also commented that this is a golden time for businesses of the two countries to shift their production, investment and logistics chains to exploit the advantages of the CPTPP Agreement. The Vietnam Trade Office in Canada is actively promoting agreements on simplifying rules of origin for textiles and garments, and opening up the Vietnamese meat, egg and milk market.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, representative of the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, exports to Australia in the first quarter of 2025 reached nearly 1.6 billion USD, up 13.2% over the same period last year. Vietnam is taking advantage of tariff incentives from common FTAs, along with a favorable bilateral relationship environment, to expand its market share in this potential market.
At the conference, representatives of Vietnamese trade agencies abroad also focused on discussing how the US tariff policy has caused fluctuations in the world market, but challenges always come with opportunities.
Therefore, businesses need to improve their production capacity to be able to export sustainably to existing markets; at the same time, increase access to new markets. Deals will grasp market information, consumer trends and new policies of the host country to provide to businesses, support businesses to meet new standards and penetrate global markets, potential markets.
