Speaking at the event honoring Kien Giang province for winning the Traveller Review Awards in Phu Quoc on April 17, Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking in Vietnam, said the lists were announced based on more than 360 million authentic reviews from global travelers. In addition, candidates must achieve a total score of over 8 as well as meet criteria such as the number of guests, service facilities, and the number of good reviews from customers. Only travelers who have stayed at the accommodation are allowed to leave reviews about their experiences, and valid reviews are comments that have not been edited or adjusted in any way.
"As tourism in 2025 is being reshaped with new expectations, this list will further inspire visitors to continue exploring and connecting more deeply with the beauty of Vietnam," said Mr. Varun.
In the first quarter of 2025, Kien Giang province welcomed more than 3.1 million visitors, up 13.7% over the same period last year. Tourism revenue reached more than 13.04 trillion VND, nearly half of the annual target.
Phu Quoc alone attracted more than 2 million visitors, including nearly 474,500 international visitors, an increase of 66.5%. In January and February 2025 alone, the pearl island recorded 1.4 million visitors, with more than 320,000 foreign visitors, an increase of 52.7% over last year.
"These figures reflect the capacity and vision of Kien Giang, a locality that knows how to take advantage of its natural beauty and cultural values, while promoting event organization and sustainable tourism development," said Mr. Varun Grover.
Based on more than 360 million verified reviews from travelers worldwide, Booking.com's Traveller Review Awards recognize and honor partners who maintain outstanding service and contribute to improving the travel experience. This year, 13,003 accommodation partners in Vietnam were honored through this award for their hospitality and service that exceeds expectations. |
