Mr. Le Van Thom is Editor-in-Chief of Rural Economics Magazine.

Journalist Le Van Thom, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of Rural Economics Magazine, was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Rural Economics Magazine from April 23, 2025; joined the Standing Committee of the Association, term VII, 2020-2025, from April 28, 2025.

On April 28, in Hanoi, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quoc Doanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Gardening Association, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), presented the decision to appoint Mr. Le Van Thom, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Rural Economics Magazine, to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Rural Economics Magazine; announced the Resolution to elect Mr. Le Van Thom to join the Standing Committee of the Association, term VII, 2020-2025.

Attending the ceremony were members of the Standing Committee of the Association, the Association Office and key staff of the Rural Economics Magazine.

Previously, on April 23, 2025, the Chairman of the Association signed Decision No. 56/QD-HLV on appointing Mr. Le Van Thom to the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Rural Economics Magazine. The term of appointment is 5 years.

Presenting the decision, presenting flowers and congratulating Mr. Le Van Thom on being trusted by the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Party Cell of the Association to appoint and assign new responsibilities, Chairman Le Quoc Doanh emphasized that the new Editor-in-Chief of the Rural Economics Magazine is a well-trained cadre, has been associated with the Rural Economics Magazine for 28 years, has held many positions, and always completes assigned tasks well.

Chairman Le Quoc Doanh requested the Vice Presidents of the Association, the Standing Committee of the Association, the Standing Committee, the affiliated units, the staff, reporters, editors, and employees of the Rural Economic Journal to continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, unity, support, and help Mr. Le Van Thom in his position as Editor-in-Chief in focusing on leading and directing the Journal to perform well the tasks stipulated in the press license and the Journal's operating regulations.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, Chairman Le Quoc Doanh requested the new Editor-in-Chief to promote the results that the Rural Economics Journal has achieved in the past, unite within the agency to create strength, and bring the Journal to new heights. Recently, the Journal has had many in-depth articles of high academic nature, in line with the principles and purposes of the Journal. The new Editor-in-Chief needs to expand relationships with state management agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, ministries, departments, branches, localities, enterprises, and press management agencies to gain support for the Journal's activities.

The leadership team of the Rural Economics Magazine needs to be strengthened, so the new Editor-in-Chief should soon develop a plan to train and develop qualified staff and introduce them to the Vietnam Gardening Association for consideration and appointment.

Speaking on accepting the assignment, Mr. Le Van Thom thanked the Standing Committee of the Association, Chairman Le Quoc Doanh, the Party Cell of the Association, as well as the trust of the Editorial Board, staff, reporters, editors, and employees of the Rural Economics Magazine.

Assigned to head the Rural Economy Magazine, Mr. Le Van Thom strives to continue studying, practicing, dedicating himself to maintaining and promoting the achievements of generations of leaders of the Magazine, together with the Editorial Board to build a dynamic and creative working environment, promoting the spirit of dedication of workers, bringing the Rural Economy steadily forward, actively contributing to the common success of the Association as well as the Agriculture and Environment sector.

“I hope to continue to receive the attention, direction and support of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Vietnam Gardening Association and its member associations, ministries, departments, branches, localities, enterprises... for the activities of the Rural Economics Magazine as well as the support and companionship of my colleagues in the agency so that I can best complete the assigned tasks,” said Mr. Le Van Thom.

Mr. Le Van Thom was born in 1973, from Thai Binh. He graduated from Hanoi University of Agriculture I (now Vietnam Academy of Agriculture), Institute of Journalism and Communication (now Academy of Journalism and Communication), Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics...

He has 28 years of experience working at Rural Economics Magazine (formerly Rural Economics Newspaper), through the positions of Editorial Secretary, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge.

Mr. Le Van Thom is currently Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell of the Association, Deputy Head of the Association's Inspection Board, Secretary of the Association of Journalists of Rural Economics Magazine.
