To quickly drain flood water and prevent people from entering deep flooded areas, on the afternoon of August 13, employees of Hanoi Drainage Company were on duty and used iron booms to warn of heavily flooded areas. |

Hanoi Drainage Company Limited has just announced that from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on August 13, 2023, heavy rain occurred in the city. The total rainfall measured in the North and the City Center was from 40-70 mm, some places over 100 mm, the West and South of the city: 30-50 mm, some places over 80 mm, with central areas such as Hoan Kiem 92.5 mm, Hai Ba Trung 84.6 mm, Hoang Mai 161.4 mm.
At 7:15 p.m., flooded areas appeared: Phung Hung, Thuy Khue, Dien Bien Phu - Nguyen Tri Phuong, Nguyen Khuyen, Phan Boi Chau - Nguyen Thuong Kiet, Mac Thi Buoi, Ba Trieu intersection, Hang Bai - Hai Ba Trung, Tong Dan, Lien Tri - Nguyen Gia Thieu, Huynh Thuc Khang, Nguyen Chinh, Hoang Mai street (road to Hoang Van Thu ward People's Committee), Thien Duc street train underpass...
“At the time of the rain, the Company properly operated the sluice gates of the regulating lake and the pumping station to lower the water level in the system according to regulations. At the same time, it deployed forces on duty to handle drainage and garbage collection at the inlet in the entire management area,” informed the Hanoi Drainage Company.
