EVNNPC is on duty 24/7, restoring power supply as quickly as possible during the storm season for customers.

Faced with unusual weather, thunderstorms causing landslides, flash floods, affecting the power grid, EVNNPC has been on duty 24/7, readying materials and human resources to fix problems, restoring power supply to customers as quickly as possible.

Entering early August 2024, unusual weather conditions, prolonged thunderstorms causing landslides and flash floods affected the power grid in some northern mountainous provinces such as: Son La, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Cao Bang , Ha Giang, ...

To ensure operations, safety for people and property, and improve the reliability of power supply to customers, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has been proactively monitoring and grasping developments in floods and storms on mass media; being on duty 24/7, organizing the implementation of the 4-on-the-spot motto, being on duty to prevent natural disasters and search and rescue when floods and storms affect the mainland of the Northern region, ready to mobilize human resources, materials, and equipment to respond to and quickly overcome incidents, promptly restoring power supply to customers.

Also to improve the safety of the power grid during the storm season, EVNNPC is focusing on reviewing and handling existing problems on the power grid, immediately handling simple problems that can be handled, especially problems related to the lightning protection system of the line such as loose grounding/lightning protection flags on pole tops, poor contact..., strengthening inspection during operation of high-load lines, long-term operating equipment at 110 kV transformer stations, distribution stations, promptly detecting abnormalities and preventing incidents.

At the same time, we call on customers and people to always have a firm grasp of knowledge about safe electricity use, not to be negligent or lack understanding of safety when using electricity during the rainy and stormy season. In particular, people in rural and mountainous areas, places that have been and are being affected by natural disasters, need to comply with safety recommendations from the industry and local authorities to ensure the safety of life and property.

Electricity consumption remains high

Previously, in July 2024, EVNNPC ensured stable power supply to serve socio -economic development, meeting the daily needs of people in 27 northern provinces; providing safe and reliable power supply to serve the high school graduation exam and university and vocational education admissions in 2024.

The growth rate of commercial electricity in July 2024 in the area managed by EVNNPC reached 9.38 billion kWh, an increase of 9.87% compared to July 2023.

Of which, the construction industry sector accounts for 59.79% (up 12.31%), the consumer management sector accounts for 32.03% (up 5.05%), and the trade and service sector accounts for 3.68% (up 8.9%).

Accumulated in the first 7 months of 2024, EVNNPC's total commercial electricity output reached 57,036 billion kWh, an increase of 13.86% over the same period in 2023.

EVNNPC's power loss in July 2024 reached 4.31%, accumulated in the first 7 months of 2024 reached 3.99%, down 1.63% over the same period in 2023 and 0.11% lower than the plan assigned by EVN.

Regarding the electricity access index, in July, the Corporation received and resolved electricity supply for 245 medium-voltage customers. The average time to resolve procedures of the Electricity industry was 3.16 days, a decrease of 0.35 days compared to the same period in 2023.

In the first 7 months of 2024, the Corporation received and resolved power supply for 1,373 medium-voltage customers. The average time to resolve procedures of the Electricity industry was 3.24 days; a decrease of 0.29 days compared to the same period in 2023; a decrease of 3.76 days compared to EVN's regulations.

The Corporation and its member Power Companies have implemented many solutions to promote the rate of cashless payments. By the end of July 2024, the rate of customers paying electricity bills without using cash is estimated at 88.46%, 1.33% higher than the target assigned by EVN in 2024.

Revenue through non-cash payment channels reached 97.26%. The rate of providing level 4 electricity services reached 100%.
