The "1st Pickleball Tournament of Economic and Urban Newspaper - 2025" is an activity towards the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025), responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi - Editor-in-Chief of Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, Head of the tournament organizing committee said that pickleball is a new sport introduced to Vietnam in recent years but is developing rapidly, attracting a large number of players because it is easy to access. This sport is a combination of the playing style of many sports such as: Tennis, table tennis, badminton... with simple gameplay and suitable for many different subjects.

"The first Pickleball Tournament of Economic and Urban Newspaper - 2025" is organized to promote the physical education and sports movement, develop pickleball in Hanoi, create opportunities for pickleball lovers to compete, share their passion as well as connect social relationships and fans of the new sport of pickleball. The tournament also aims to encourage sports practice and improve health; contribute to the development of the physical education and sports movement in general and pickleball in particular", Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi emphasized.

The “1st Pickleball Tournament of Economic & Urban Newspaper - 2025” took place from March 15 to March 16, at the Pickleball Court Complex of the Center for Culture - Information - Sports and Tourism of Cau Giay District, with the participation of more than 400 athletes.

The tournament has 10 competition categories, with an attractive prize structure. The Organizing Committee will award first, second and third prizes to athletes with achievements worth a total of more than 200 million VND.
